What are they building in Africa

Now that the new Lion King theatre is open, the construction across the path is glaring. A rather large area by the entrance to the Wildlife Express train has a fence around it and is being completely torn up. It's the size of a substantial building.

I have asked several CMs what is being built there but no one could (or would) tell me. Does anyone know?

I wondered that too last month. It's not really next to anything other than the store. They clearly ripped all the trees out that were there before.

I think that is more Harambe expansion.

I have heard that they are building a new path between Africa and Asia, but based on reports of the amount of land clearing that is going on it seems to be more then just a path.

Not likely, the Avatar plot is pretty far from there and it already has a stage area setup in it.

It is quite a good sized area, definitely more then would be needed for just a new path between Africa and Asia.

Since the road crossing the rr tracks seems to be the only way to get any goods into the market area, I doubt they will do anything but a cm parking lot. It seems that any attempt to connect a pathway for guests through there will cut off the service access.

Could it be that and an expansion of that marketplace. In the wdwmagic forum many were talking about Africas lack of food services especially quick service. Maybe they will expand that building and make it a new quick service restaurant. There will be more traffic in that area with FOTLK there now.

Its our understanding that the area will be a new CS location. Much like Sunset Ranch over at DHS. An open market feel. It will connect near Ziwadi and go all the way to the path that leads to Asia

Now with the CM lot cleared it is not as small as I had thought it was. There was always a bottleneck in that area and this would open up the whole feel quite a bit. Didn't they expand the CS in Asia pretty much the same way?
