What are the vocal auditions like for the college program

My dd is a theatre major in college and is thinking about going to see the presentation next week for the Spring program. What would the auditions be like for singing performers at Disneyworld? thanks

For the CP, there are no singing roles in entertainment. The only singing roles are in equity (and CPs can't be in equity). However, there is a club for singing (ENCORE, I think) and there is the Candlelight Processional (but that would be for the Fall programs, unless she extended her CP).

Thank you. My dd is equity eligible, but hasnt joined yet. This is the first time we are looking at the college program. What are some of the roles in entertainment in the program?

Well, for the college program it's just basic meet and greets as well as the possibility for doing shows and parades (shows like FOTLK dancer, Dream Along with Mickey performer, Fantasmic performer, ect).

Now for equity, there is a lot more shows shows. However, a lot of them are equity for dance, and not singing. Ones I can think of for singing are Finding Nemo, FOTLK leads, HDDR?, among others.

If you are thinking of the parades and some of the shows in regards to singing--you have to take into account that those are pre-recorded things. Yes, some people choose to sing in them but it's mainly for the dancing/entertainment due to the fact if they were really singing in a parade 1) it would be very tiring 2) no one would be able to hear them. Thank you so much and thanks everyone for the information. My dd has been looking at the college program website and has alot of questions. There is a presentation at a local college (not the one she is attending) but she is going to go and learn more about the program. It sound like such a great experience!

2. I passed the dance auditions am in Orlando now for the Spring 2008 program. I've heard you start out as fur and if you would like to perform in parades and such you can go to auditions. Is this the case???

I can't answer the first one, but as to the second one- yes, you will be doing fur. When it comes parades/shows, what you can do depends on your color code (animation and dance). You can preference things that you are able to do, but then it comes down to Disney. They will pick you if they need you.
