What are the top 5 best restaurants at Disney?

We are going Dec 10-15 and I need to book a PS for each night's dinner. Four adults, five kids aged 10, 7, 4, and 2. Adults would like a nice sit down meal each evening, but we'll also have the kids with us at all times.

We are staying at the GF and don't want to travel far to eat since we won't have a car. So what are your top 5 recommendations for us???

All sit-down restaurants in WDW (except V & A's) are fine to bring your kids.

There are sit-down a la carte full service, buffets, and family style all you can eat. There are also character meals and shows. It depends upon what everyone in your party will enjoy.

Even though you do not have a car, the GF isn't too far from some excellent restaurants. The GF is on the monorail so you have the GF, Poly and CR restaurants at your fingertips. Plus you can always book PS at a park and visit that park on your PS day.

Top 5 (not in any order) these are more upscale than below FUN restaurants.

2. San Angel Inn- Mexico
3. California Grill - Contemporary
4. Wolfgang Puck's Cafe- Downtown Disney-West Side
5. Yachtsmen Steakhouse- Yacht Club


All kid friendly and all serve very lovely meals with great service! ENJOY

My top 5 restaurants:

1. Jiko at AKL
2. Citrico's at GF
3. Flying Fish at Boardwalk
4. Yachtsman Steakhouse at YC
5. (tie) Artist Point at WL and Palio at Swan

These are all more upscale, fine dining establishments, but that is how we like to eat at WDW. Kids are more than welcome at all of them.

However, other than Citrico's, the others may be hard to get to from GF without a car, as resort-to-resort travel can be very difficult at WDW. However, if you are willing to endure the travel (or take a taxi), all of these restaurants will provide you with a wonderful meal!

We were in a similar situation the last time we went to WDW. We stayed at the GF for eight nights and have two children (1&3yo).

We too did not have a car, so we typically ate at one of the resorts in the monorail loop or take the other monorail loop over to Epcot. We avoided dinner options where we would need to take a bus.

Below are some good dinner choices meeting your criteria. While some are noted for excellent food some are known for OK food and great atmoshere worth experiencing:

1) Ohana (PR) (all you can eat)

2) California Grill (CR) (our kids did well here)

3) Chef de France (Epcot-World Showcase)

4) L'Originale Alfredo Di Roma Ristorante (Epcot-World Showcase)

5)1900 Park Fare (GF) (Character Dinner with better than average food for a character buffet meal and you can walk back to your room when you finish)

6) Coral Reef Restaurant (Epcot Living Seas) (Food OK but entertaining - one wall is entirely a window looking into a 5.7 million saltwater aquarium with 8,000 inhabitants - kids should love the view)

Other than V&A, I would say the top five in terms of fine dining (in alphabetical order) are
Artist Point
California Grill
Citrico's
Flying Fish
Shula's Steak House

This is not my opinion -- I've only eaten at two of them. It's just my impression from reading a lot of reviews from a lot of sources.

If UncleRomulus should offer an opinion, listen to him, not me.

Among the monorail resorts, it's hard to go wrong. Narcoossee's is good but expensive (as are the five mentioned above). 'Ohana and Kona Cafe at the Polynesian are both pretty good, and you may find the Grand Floridian Cafe to be just fine as well. 'Ohana, 1900 Park Fare, Chef Mickey's, and Crystal Palace (in MK) are especially good for children, though children are welcomed everywhere. I have no opinion on the Concourse Steakhouse.

Using the bus system to go from resort to resort can sometimes turn out to be a nightmare; the bus routes are not designed for this. However taking a cab to another resort is an option.
