What are the top 10 things you need to pack?

Hi,
Yup, now I have to pack!!(I know if you guys were leaving in 10 daysyou would have already been packed for a month what can I say - I'm a little slow)
So what are the 10 things you can't live without on a trip to disney? with 4 children?
Right now I think my 10 are
1. ponchos
2. bathing suits
3. sweatshirts (we always go in Nov. or Dec. and hit atleast one day of cold!)
4. autograph books
5. string cheese
6. two books per person(we have a long flight)
7. coloring books and crayons
8. THE TICKETS !!
9. sunglasses and sunscreen
10 clothes

What else?

I also packed a small first aid kit.; Bandaids, benedryl cream, neosporin, tylenol ( for my teething baby), advil for me and DH, extra gauze sponges to use to rinse off any owies from a fall, and some arnica montana, for the bumps and bruises.

It sounds like a lot, but it is in a ziplock bag. If i dont have it, i will need it, and if i have it, my kids will be perfect and not clutzy. LOL

1. Motion sickness meds!!! (very important!!!!)

2. Sharpie pen.......you just never know when you're gonna need one whether it's writing your initials on your water bottle or what.

3. 2 pairs of shoes per person.........switching to a different pair of shoes each day (or at night) is such a life saver on your feet!

4. Assortment of warm & cold weather clothing (including jackets, hats, umbrellas, ponchos, etc)

5. Matching shirts to wear each day.......sadly, yes, we are THAT family.

6. Ziploc bags to bring home extra Tigger Tails and Mickey Rice Krispies!

7. Soft collapsible ice chest to store lunch, snacks and drinks

8. Blanket to sit on while watching parades

9. Stroller to store most everything listed above!

With kids? Other than what has already been mentioned:

*change of clothes for little ones who may have accidents or food messes
*strollers for anyone who may get tired
*Wet Ones wipes to wipe hands off after rides and before you eat
*Small first aid kit, medications (tylenol, motrin etc.)

*tickets
*money
*snacks
*camera w/ extra card and batteries

If you are taking a lot of electronics or need to charge items, you might want to bring a surge protector to give you more outlets. There were four of us on our trip and we each had a cell phone, that takes up four plug-ins. One outlet was very loose. FYI

Here's what we always take to DL (two adults on winter visits):

1. Each person has two pairs of roomy, high support shoes.
2. Foot powder.
3. First Aid baggie that includes ibuprofen, Band-Aids, antacids, pepto bismol, eye drops and antihistamines.
4. Extra pair of contacts.
5. Ponchos
6. Layerable clothing for comfortable days/cool to cold nights. This includes scarves, warm jackets and ear-covering caps.
7. Camera and extra memory.
8. Organizer purse (I love my Baggallini City Bagg!!)
9. Sunglasses
10. MONEY

- One pair of cargo pants (or cargo pants shorts) for every two days I'm there. NO other pants needed.

I have this great larger, material covered "coupon like" holder that I've been using since we started cruising several years ago that holds all our airline, hotel and shuttle confirmations, travel phone numbers, as well as, forms of ID, Rx info, and my kids id tags.

I have wrist bands and shoe tags for my little ones that have their names, hotel name w/room number and our cell phone numbers.

I have their carry-on's packed with 1 or 2 new items, their favorites and some snacks. GUM, BINKIES or SIPPIES!!

I make my Von's order at this time as well and get all the diapers, pull-ups, wipes, milk, juice, snacks....staples rather for the hotel room and so I don't have to pack so much.

POWER STRIP, PHONE CHARGERS!!!

Then my favorite fun things that always let me know I'm getting close...hehehee:

Glad you enjoyed my humor!! My mom is BIG on us wearing matching shirts. In fact, I can remember a trip to DL when I was in 8th grade and we all had to wear matching shirts. We took a pic in front of the castle and I had that teenager pissed off look on my face. The real reason I was mad was because my mom bought us all these green polo shirts from JC Penneys that had a fox stitched on the left chest. This was back in the 80's in the day of Izod and mom refused to pay the $$$ for matching Izods shirts for us all. So here I am trying to look my coolest with my long feathered hair and a stupid fox on my shirt instead of an alligator!!

Whenever we fly anywhere for a trip, we always wear a matching shirt on the flight. Mom used to be a travel agent and she swears you get better treatment from the flight attendants if they think you are a "fun" family!

It seems funny to me how many include Ponchos on their list. Don't you know 'It never rains in California"? It really doesn't. It rains sunshine. I think the majority of the time we have great weather. Now, if I was in Florida, for sure I would have a Poncho on my list. We were just there yesterday and what I always forget to pack is sunscreen, so dont forget that. Also, water bottles. Typically I fill/freeze a water bottle only 1/2 way and top it off with water in the morning. Then during the day when the water runs out we get water from the restaurants. In some places you can get Ice and Water. SO, I just fill up the bottles. Oh, and don't forget hats. The sun pounding on your head can get really hot. Also, when we go to the park, we like to do a few 'stand in the line rides' where we'll get hot, then we'll find a ride like Star Tours or Its A Small World that has A/C to cool down.

Oh, Oh, and we found this out yesterday, you can get a fast pass in one park, then go to the other and get a fast pass as well. The time constaints don't apply between parks. --- Sorry, I got a little off topic, but it might be helpful .

At least for our family the Ponchos are for GRR and Splash. We buy the disposable ones at the dollar store. We use umbrellas if it rains!

I bring ponchos mostly for Grizzly Rapids (a total must no matter when we go)and Splash. AND I have been to Disneyland several times IN THE RAIN!! DD and I were poncho ready and as the crowds all left we hung out in the stores and then walked on rides

i have 4 kids also, and if i were visiting smack dab in the middle of the current flu issue, i'd be bringing along a container of Lysol wipes, to wipe down chairs/tables at restaurants. we typically only eat once per day inside DLR, and it's usually Taste Pilot's Grill over at CA. there are always millions of kids sticking their hands in their mouths, or picking their noses, and then wiping their hands all over every surface in the restaurant, lol. SO GROSS! i always have my kids wash their hands before AND after the meal (and i remind them to just keep their hands on their food, not surfaces), because we typically don't bring along Lysol wipes. i would if i were visiting now, though.

We packed ponchos for our trip in 2008 and were so glad we did!

Our magic morning was drizzly. People were coming up to us asking where we got them. I promptly responded "Dollar Tree - 2 for $1". We only wore them when waiting in line for the MM to open. As soon as we hit Space Mountain we took them off and threw them away.

Chargers for cell phones & Nintendo DS (and this year my netbook)
Ponchos (see above)

I would definately bring a poncho for rides, my skin reacts to the water on the rides so I need to protect it. Also, I wouldn't personally want to walk around feeling soggy all day..
