Hi Everyone,

First timer to DL here, I have been reading this forum daily and have read great advice on how to get on RSR, question is, once you have done RSR then what?

I am planning on going to DCA utilising EE and would like to try and do as much as i can before the crowds pick up, if we get on RSR first thing, what ride should I try and get on next.

If anyone can let me know which rides tend to be the most popular in DCA and DL it would be appreciated.

If it helps, it will be myself, DH, DD12, DS9, DS7(celebrating birthday at DCA)

Thanks in advance

Toy Story Mid Way Mania and Soarin would probably have the longest lines so I would clear those.
Personally our favourites are Cali Screaming and Tower of Terror

We don't have the EE option since we don't stay on-site.

I find for us it's best to get ToyStoryMidWayMania out of the way before the line gets too long. It does not have FP so the one line is the only option.

Soarin', CS, RSR, TOT, GSS, GRR all have FP's. This makes it easier to have a short wait when you use FP's for these rides.

As far as favorites-popular... We like them all! We try to utilize FP's for all of them to get as many rides in as possible.

I would say the most popular item at DCA for my group is the Aladdin performance. We always make time to see Aladdin when we are there. Most trips we will see it each day we go into DCA.

The others have pretty much covered DCA. For DL Space Mountain, Star Tours, Matterhorn, Peter Pan's Flight, Big thunder Mountain Railroad, Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and Splash Mountain are are extremely popular. Many of them have fastpasses, so utilize them. Matterhorn, PPF, POTC, & HM do not have fastpasses, so plan accordingly.

It's not a raid, but I would add in that WoC at DCA and Fantasmic and Fireworks at DL are also fairly popular. They're all shows, like Aladdin, but people do arrive early to get a "good" spot.

I defiantely agree that for DCA, the most popular rides at RSR (by far), TSMM, and Soarin'. Screamin', ToT, and GRR would be the next most popular, but RSR and TSMM are by far the most popular.

For DL, I agree with butterflymouse. If you have kids, I would add in It's a Small World and Dumbo in terms of popularity.

If you have early admission, I strongly suggest you go straight to Toy Story. During that hour, we were able to ride it 3 times in a row with no wait at all. I rode Screaming with no wait at all, and then you can hop on Goofy with little to no wait and grab a FP to ride it again later if you like it (our DD5 absolutely loved it!). Then around 60-75 minutes past park opening, we went to get fastpass for RSR with a return time of 6pm.

For DCA: after RSR, I would go for Toy Story Midway Mania. Then you can go to California Screamin, and then Little Mermaid is right there (and air conditioned w a short wait).

Head back over and you could enjoy Mater's Junkyard... we thought it was a "baby" ride but then wondered why everyone stumbles off of it. It's fun.

Tower of Terror (cut through Bug's Life) always popular. You can visit the hidden dark ride of Monsters Inc. if you want before going through the downtown and going on Soarin' (which the lines are a toss up - some times long, sometimes no line). If it's open (under refurb lately) enjoy Grizzly River Run.

TSMM first--popular, no FP, often long lines
RSR--get FP 40-60 minutes of RD for later return, use SR line for other times
Soarin'--next longest lines, get FP at beginning of day and use at end of time
ToT--long line, get FP as soon as you can after Soarin' FP
Screamin'--popular, but high capacity that moves fast, FP not connected (can get one as same time as another)
Mater's--so, so, fun, kiddie ride but I absolutely love it

Space--usually one of if not longest line, FP
Indy--may be best attraction in any Disney park, lines can get long, FP
PP--very popular with no FP, unless you RUN to get in line first the line can build to 40 minutes within 10 minutes of opening, unless you plan on running and pushing to be one of the first, I would wait until later because the line will be 30 minutes no matter when, but may get to 50 minutes on busy days
ST--FP, popular but not as long as first ones
BTMRR--popular but high capacity, FP
Dumbo--popular with kids, can build fast
Matterhorn--often times during first hour will only have one side going, so longer than needs to be, often shorter 2 hours after park opening when both sides open
Splash--really long at hot times (120 minutes), get FP for afternoon return time, short when it's cold

FL has no FP, so if want to go on these rides this is the order of how fast the lines build: PP, Dumbo, Storybook, Alice, Casey, Toads

This is great info. How about GRR? Are lines usually long for this (specifically during the summer) and would a FP go quickly? What would the average wait times be for the other rides not mentioned?

GRR does not usually have long lines in the morning. The difficulty here is timing. You want to get a FP for a warmer part of the day, but that is not always easy to time. We've had issues where sometimes they utilize all of the FP machines in the morning for WOC, so you can't even get a FP for GRR until later. So annoying. This is my favorite ride at DCA, and I like to ride it multiple times in a row, usually before heading back to the hotel. The line gets significantly shorter after dinner as the temperature drops.

Ariel is pretty much no line all day. If there is a line it is in the 5-10 minute range. The rides on the pier (Swings, Fun-TERROR-Wheel) can be longer than 30 minutes as they load slowly. The Jelly-Fish and Zephyr ride are usually under 20 minutes; they load slowly, but aren't as popular. Goofy's has FP and single rider, but the line for it is usually 25-40 minutes. That isn't too bad for a "coaster." The rides in Bugsland are all slow loading, but not too popular. The lines tend to be 10-20 minutes depending on how crowded the park/area is. Usually Monster's Inc is pretty much a walk on. The show rides (Bugslife and Muppets) are too. For Aladdin and Disney Jr., you will need to show up ahead of time, about 15-20 minutes or so should be okay if you don't care where you sit.

Agree about TTMM - but like Ariel, the ride loads continuously so it can actually move quite a number of people. As for a super-slow line, even if it isn't particularly long - Mickey's Fun Wheel. Typical ferris wheel style stop/go loading. I'd still recommend doing it though for a fantastic view of the park.

Over at DL some of the most "popular" are also continuous loaders (Peter Pan, Pirates, Indiana Jones, Small World and Buzz Lightyear for example). The absolutely WORST ride for slow loading and long lines is Dumbo but somehow once you're whizzing around in that elephant, the wait seems worth it!!:dumbo: Very little says "Disneyland" quite like that ride. I hope you get a chance to do it.
