What are the amenities that you are given? I want to know what I have/have not been missing!!
Thanks!!

The concierge amenities are meal service, not really full meals, but snacks. Robes in your room, chocolates on your bed, nightly turndown service, and making impossible PSs for you.

Sometimes the room location can be better, strollers may be available, and we like the larger rooms available at some resorts (extra fee). Also, AKL concierge offers the Sunrise Safari.

I am in the Yacht Club Concierge right now and seriously doubt I would ever do it again. It is nice to have snack etc on hand, but I have been VERY disappointed in the upkeep of the lounge. Almost everytime I go down to get something the place is almost empty. Yesterday the ice was out 3 times and a guest took the bucket down to fill it up for us. The CM was talking to a couple of people then disappeared for the rest of the time I was there. The food was almost all gone, no bowl and paper cups were gone too. I was appalled at the level of service. Final note, milk is only available in the morning. Everytime I ask the CM for milk they give me a look and bring it back 5-10 minutes later. I feel like I am bothering them.

venting over............

I would be upset too. I hope you tell someone about your experience:(

We just completed a 7 night stay at the GF Sugar Loaf concierge that was just delightful. Our room was wonderful, turndown was nice each night. We had balloons and a photo signed by Mickey for our son's birthday. The daily snacks were very good, loved the lemonade each day, but especially loved the oatmeal/raisin cookies. The staff was very nice.

I thought Robes and the turndown service with chocolates was just a part of the GF service as a whole? That is what they describe it to be when booking.

dpuck1998- Im so sorry to hear this!! Have you spoken to the concierge desk about your problems?? I too would be upset.
How are the crowds at SAB?? Thanks for the info.:) I hope your stay improves!!

dpuck1998, I am going to YC concierge in a little over 2 weeks. I was afraid the experience might be like what you were describing.:( That's one of the reasons why I've waited so long to try concierge. Sometimes you just get cm's who either just forget what about what they need to be doing to keep guests happy or they simply just don't care. Please make a point to ask who you can speak to about the quality of service that the concierge guests are receiving. I know when I'm there, if I receive substandard service, I'll have to speak up. I hope the rest of your vacation is wonderful and that your YC concierge experience improves.

Has anyone had experience with the Dolphin Concierge level/service? I don't know what to call it.

What amenities did it include? How is/was it?

Lastly, if you have a Starwood Preferred Guest cards and AMEX card (new), would it be worth adding that level now or would you wait and see if you get an upgrade? Currently, I'm using the AMEX card in place of all other cards whenever possible so as to rack up the points. Our vacation will be 4/24, during a big conference at the hotel, apparently. I figure that might factor into it, too.

Can anyone share their ideas based on their experiences on this one?

We will be at YC concierge two weeks today. I'm disappointed to hear about your stay. Please keep in touch and let us know if things improve. I've thus been happy with my concierge contact and ps's made for my family.

We are doing the GF Concierge over Labor Day and are looking forward to it. We have done the POLY concierge and the AKL Concierge and enjoyed both. The Poly had better food and location.

How are the snacks at the GF Concierge?

I'm still here and a little less frustrated. My PS seating have all been well handled and my contact with the itenerary people before getting here was fantastic. I guess my only complaint was and still is with the lounge and lounge staff. Again today at 3:45 the only food in the lounge was goldfish crackers. The ice has almost always been empty or near empty. Seems like they put out food for each time frame and forget about it. Nothing seems to refilled very often......I plan to speak with someone, not sure if it should be the conceirge or if I should e-mail/call Disney....

Are you staying longer? I would speak to a concierge staff memebe!! Dont let this ruin your time. Maybe your complaint will help the rest of your stay and also help future visits. :)

dpuck1998, I was wondering if you could email the head of concierge? She is very nice (seems so in all her emails) and maybe she would like to be informed of the guests' opinions of how the cm's maintain the lounge in concierge? What do you think? If you don't have her email address I'll send it to you in a pm. Please let me know. :D

dpuck1998, please cancel my last post! You are on vacation and should only be enjoying your stay!!:D I'm sorry that I got caught up in the moment and I forgot that you must enjoy your vacation . I am sure that you are still having a good stay in spite of the concierge. I'll try and keep things in perspective especially when I'm there too.:D :D

You should speak to someone while you are there if you can. Not someone in the lounge but a manager at the front desk. People have posted that you will get better results if you are still there.

Please don't let it spoil your vacation!!:D

Just out of curiousity, I've been wondering about the approx. cost difference between concierge and an equivalent room without it. It seems from what I've gathered from reading posts here over time that when there is disappointment with concierge, it usually has to do with the lounge, snacks, beverages, etc. I have never booked concierge and I probably never will because I really don't see the point (enlighten me?). Is the price difference so little that you couldn't do as well buying your own snacks and beverages?

Shoot, I bring a big Rubbermaid tub with us when we vacation. We keep all our snacks in it so they don't get smashed. But it was so neat just walking up to the table with cookies and fruit and whatever and just helping myself to them. And walking over to the counter, filling a clean glass with ice and fresh lemonade. Then leaving the empty glass on the tray and walking away. It's not just about the snacks and staff who help you get PS and such, it's the convenience of it all. Plus they call you by name and greet your family members by name. They ask how your day is going and can they do anything to help make it better. YOu ask them about getting tickets for X show and they find out if it is available and make the reservation for you.

Yeah, I could have saved a few hundred dollars and bought my own cookies and lemonade, but it wouldn't have been the same. I do it all the time when I stay in my DVC resort (which I love, by the way).

But sometimes you just want to do something different.

Like the spa treatment. It just made me feel special. And I'm worth it.
