What are the odds for getting a discounted rate in April?

I'm thinking about planning our trip During my DDs spring break (around 2nd week of April) since it seems that most schools do not have their spring break at this time...I'm hoping maybe the crowds won't be so bad and it will be cooler than if we wait until after school lets out the middle of May. However, the rate for GF is about $70 more per night at that time. YIKES!!!! What are the chances of either getting a good rate through the codes or an AP discount for April? Would we have better luck if we waited till end of May, beginning of June? Also, do the codes go as fast as the APs? I tried to get an AP discount for our last trip and they were all gone a mere few hours after they were released. :(

Don't know about discounts, but keep in mind that Easter next year is April 20th. This could be a determining factor.

It's very unlikely that you find a discount for the week before Easter or the week after Easter. These two weeks and the week between Christmas and New Year's Day are WDW's busiest. IIRC, there were not discounts for the Easter time frame this year.
If you go at this time, you will most likley end up paying rack rate.
