Just curious....for instance, when you look at deck to the front of Parrot Cay and to the Right of the Prommenade Lounge it's grey. Is that the food prep areas?

Gray areas are places cruisers can't go, only cast members. I'm thinking that might be food prep, yes. Some gray areas are places where the main theater stage apparatus extends into lower floors so things can rise up out of the floor during show.

I have heard that having a stateroom directly above the crew bar is extremely noisy. Does anyone know where that is? Hopefully not near my stateroom. Thank you.

I did the galley tour a couple cruises back. The gray area between behind Lumiere's/Triton's all the way to Parrot Cay is the galley.

I would like to know where this too. :sunny:

I think the crew bar is below deck one....but I've stayed on deck one before and never had a problem with noise. From talking with our waiter on the Wonder we learned that they usually have parties out at their pool. You can see it from deck 10 it looked like a lot of fun.

The gray areas are a variety of non-passenger spaces used for a variety of purposes. Having been on tours or having a drill take us through a few of them, many of them are no where near as "nice" as the passenger space - it is "backstage".

On Deck 3, the big gray area are the kitchens for Luminiere's/Triton and Parrot Cay - there is a great backstage tour that you need to get tickets for on 7 day cruises.

On Deck 4, there is the Kitchen for Animator's Pallette.

On Deck 3 there is a huge backstage area for the Disney Theater. The last time we did a 7 day Eastern, the exit from the US Immigration check in the theater was through this area, ending up in Diversions.

On Deck 2, part of the path to the Ships Infirmary is basically a hallway through gray areas.

On Deck 5 there is a gray area that is actually a connector between the Club and Lab to move kids. My kids have told me that there are stairways that they have used moving from place to place that are not the ones all of the passengers use. I know there is a semi hidden set of stairs from Deck 8 up to deck 9 that comes out behind Topsiders.

There are lots of closets/storage areas around that show up as gray that you see crew moving stuff in and out of - including service elevators that your bags are moved on.

Where is that 'secret hallway' for the kids that is shown on the DCL dvd? My kids really want to go through that next time.

Yeah yeah :bounce: :bounce: where is it.

When on Deck 5, I think you can see small windows that look out to the hallway and then the outside. THis leads from one club to the other. That is if I remember correctly. When going into the younger club I think it is on the left of the doors - that wall.

We stayed right beside a grey area on deck 7 midship, and I never heard or saw anything at all. I was told it was probably housekeeping supplies etc. I was just glad there was no noise in the middle of the nights from maintenance or something...I was basically worried for nothing.
