What are the chances

Hi everyone ....I am a new DVC member (all closing papers,$$$ sent) Just waiting for all the final processing..Im taking a trip sept15-27th,15-20th off site, 20-27th OKW. What are the chances that after Disney has my membership # that I will be able to book a studio at any of the dvc resorts for the times that we are staying off site(sept15-20th). I would love to stay on site for those first 5 days ....at BCV or BWV....I guess im dreaming By the way,this is a resale, did not buy through Disney so they will not have my # for another week or so... Thanks for all your help

When we joined in 2000 I think I put the deposit down in April (mid to late April?) and booked 4 nights in a preferred studio for the end of May, so I definitely think it's possible! We received our membership number almost immediately (temporary cards). If the papers were sent several days ago, I'd call and see if they have your membership number to give you over the phone, then they can book it asap. Good luck!


Okay to edit this post a little bit, I just read on another post that the person didn't even have there member no. yet, but MS let them use their SS#. Who knows, it doesn't hurt to try.

You can check here (http://www.occompt.com/2002/records.html)to see when the deed is recorded. Then call MS and ask if they can access your account by name.

I just booked a studio at BCV for Labor day weekend. I just called last week and they also had BWV open. I think you have a pretty good chance.

We added a day a couple years ago for early Sept., and we were able to book it 24 hours before. I think September might be easier than other times.

I just booked a last minute trip for Sept 19th-24 and rooms are scarce....... but they seemed to open up after the 24th, not sure how they looked before hand though.

Again, you definitely do not need to wait until after the deed is recorded. My first trip was taken before our deed was recorded so I'd call as soon as you could.

I have to agree about calling now. We were notified Monday that our resale had closed. I started calling MS on Wednesday and gave them my and DH's social security #s and our names. By yesterday afternoon we were in the system.

I got our member # and made ressies for Jan. 2-6, 2004 with a waitlist for Jan. 1 at VWL.

Thank you for all this great advice...I will call MS first thing monday morning...also i tried to go on to the orange county site to check my deed but I cant seem to get through to the site Burnsoc...Yes we are neighbors..thanks for the offer..
