I've just booked the first part of next July's at the AKL, wasn't able to get the first night though, what do you think are the chances of a value studio becoming free if I wait list? Should I try or not even bother and something else out for our first night?

Any opinions greatly appreciated!!

At 7 months out, I definitely would try a waitlist. Can you afford to book something else in its place for the night?

Yes that is one possibility, we could get a room at the nearby ASM and then transfer over in the morning, if we don't get a room through waitlist that is probably what we will do. I've read about peoples waitlist coming throught at the BVW during F&W so hopefully mine will come up
