What are the chances FD will be

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but I have never done FD before. If I make all my dinner ressies and then they offer FD(and I call to get it), do I lose my dinner ressies and have to try to book them again?

No, you will not lose your ressies. They are made separately. It is no problem to add FD after ressies are made. :goodvibes

Thank you..I don't expect that they will offer it when I am there but I figured I would ask "in case" they did :)

I am hopeful!

I understand that some of you hope they don't for crowd levels, but for those of us who need a discount to go at all we remain with our fingers crossed they do!

They did go ahead and extend the discounts into Easter Week this year, so who knows. I got lucky then, I hope others do (including myself) for fd past October 2nd.

I'm waiting too. I haven't booked yet and haven't decided where I'm staying but dates will most likely be 8-13 Dec. I'm hoping for some sort of discount since Pop Warner dates are during my time frame and that takes away the value resorts! :headache:
Maybe they will extend the military discount! :worship:

I'm waiting right along with all of you. We had FD through Disney Visa in 08 the 3rd week of December and am hoping for something similar this year.

What's killing me is the waiting.... Once Southwest publishes their fares, I'd like to get that committed, but it's hard to do when you don't know the dates of any potential promotions. If I wait for the promotion to be released, the air fare might go up. It's just a guessing game ...........

I also think that the Easter extensions this year are an indication that there is hope, in spite of what they have announced about no more discount extensions....

Am I the only one who thinks Harry Potter World is going to give Disney another reason to continue the discounts??

What is Pop Warner? And what are the dates? Im plannin to book next week at a value for Dec 2-9.

Pop Warner is the time of year when all the Pop Warner football players come to Disney for their tournament. I believe the dates are Dec 4-11, 2010. I have not been for the whole thing. I arrived 2 years ago on the last night at All Star Sports and it was very busy & very loud. Things settled right down when they left. I would post on another thread to get more info about it. I would avoid AS Sports - not sure which value would be the best for you.

I hear you on the Southwest thing. In fact, I did something I have never done, I booked airfare before my trip is official, since I got extrmely good airfare (my best ever coming from Denver). If a good deal doesn't come along that I can save up for, I will save those tickets for Spring Break (giving me 5 more months past my October dates). So now I am nerve wracked feeling like I put the cart before the horse but my airfare kept nosing up!

And I also agree the Easter Week thing is very hopeful. As I recall they did that in 2009, so maybe that means the extended free dining trend from 2009 will continue into 2010.

And yeah, Harry Potter and the great deals Universal puts out may work in favor of something good being offered.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you that it all comes together for your December dates!:wizard:

I don't think that anyone should lose hope.;)

The economy is still not that strong....Disney is currently offering FD, up to 20/30/40 off a room and kids play and stay for free. They are trying to fill the rooms and parks.

I will throw some pixiedust:pixiedust: your way!!!!!!!

I expect (hope) they will offer some fairly good discounts through the end of the year. People are use to them and expect them so Disney cannot stop "cold turkey" or people will stop going during the slower times especially. They expect to get something in the way of a discount. I wouldn't even mind if they offered Dining at a "buy one, get one free". Anyway, they seem to be continuing to send out plenty pins for FD thru Dec. I haven't got one but plenty folks on here say they have.

The last time I called, the CM said that the best thing for me to do was "wait it out, watch the internet and call back and add FD if they offer it"...she then said "since they offered it last year, they probably will again". Of course I don't know if that means anything!!
