What are the best non-chain restaurants near WDW?

We have 3 young girls, so something family friendly. I see lots of posts about good chain restaurants on this board, but was hoping to find something local.

I've been looking in the "best restaurants" thread at the top of this board's page, and I mostly see chain restaurants. I did find this........

Mine are all over the Orlando area since I am a local.

For chain resturants:

Perkins - love the bread bowl salads
Orlando Ale House
Panera Bread - great soups, salads, and sandwiches

Local:

Pannullos - but it is up in Winter Park
O-Boys Bar-B-Q - it is the best, but again it is in WP
Boston Fish House - again in WP
The Melting Pot - located on Sand Lake
Amalfis - great Italian over in NE Orlando area
La Forcetta's - in Kissimmee (on S. John Young) Italian
Tarantino's - in Kissimmee - another Italian place

But to me, if it's good food at a good price, and family friendly......I don't care if it is a chain.

Sweet Tomatoes is one of our favorites and I don't have one anywhere near me, so it's like it is a local restaurant. For $27 (lunch) our family of five gets very fresh, wonderful tasting food. Adults are $6.99, children 6-12 $4.49, age 3-5 $1.49.

I've heard a lot of good about BubbaLou's Bodacious BBQ.

Jungle Jims and Pebbles in the Crossgates shopping center get decent reviews.

Suggest as local restaurant, Smoke House Grill on Westgate Lakes Resort. It has a Pizza Hut inside, but you may find it expensive ($15.00 +), so my second choice would be Ponderosa or Golden Corral.
