What are the best DCA rides for a ride wimp?

Last time we went to DLR, we spent most of our time in DL, and not as much at DCA. I think I only rode Soarin' while I was there, which I loved and will definitely do again. I am a self-proclaimed ride wimp--for example, I sit out on Splash Mountain because I do not do drops (but will ride Space Mtn, and everything else at DL)--so CS and that awful tower drop ride are out of the question. Any suggestions? And can I add that I'm so excited I can hardly stand it?

TOT, CS and Grizzly River Rapids all have drops. Nothing else does.

If you could do Soarin and everything in DL except for Splash you could probably do GRR, and CS.

PS if you wet you pants on Splash, don't worry yer goin to get wet anyway.

I think a self proclaimed ride wimp should definitely try Mickey's Fun Wheel of Death in one of the non-stationary cars. Just kidding! You definitely need to do Toy Story Midway Mania. I'm looking forward to Cars Land myself.

I am also a ride wimp and don't like drops. I tried GRR, and it was fine. The drops were not bad, and I would go on it again :thumbsup2

Do not overlook Monsters. You can catch the line when it is only a 5 min wait and theming and details in the ride are amazing. So much to see.

Don't miss the caterpillar ride in Bug's Land. My entire family just loved it.

Sight is not the only sense you'll use in that ride :D
I don't want to spoil anything, but there are many surprises.

I have a friend who does not ride BTMRR after the first time she did it. She likes the theming, but she doesn't like to ride it.
Hoever she had tried the Tower of Terror and enjoied it. It's scaring but not as much you would think looking it from outside. You can try the jellyfish ride (I don't remember the ride name), the Tower is just a little more intense.
The problem is that the atmosphere of the queue line will try to scare you to death before riding (and it make me apprensive too, even after dozens of times I rode it).

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'd forgotten, but I did ride GRR last time, and it was fun. Toy Story Mania had just opened up last time we were there, and we didn't ride it b/c the line was so long, but it was a favorite at WDW. That will definitely be on the list! We'll have to check out the Monsters rides, and the caterpillar ride, and definitely Cars Land.

@karrit2000 Mickey's Fun Wheel of Death--LOL. My son will get a kick out of that--he'll ride just about anything, but isn't fond of heights and does not do ferris wheels.

If you like Space Mountain, I wouldn't say you're a wimp! My DD6 (5 at the time) was adamantly against any dark rides (so we skipped most of Fantasyland) but she loved Goofy's Sky School (an entirely outdoor roller coaster). I think there is one "drop" but not as bad as Splash Mountain and I thought wimpier than Space Mountain.

There are some other gentle rides near Goofy (the jellyfish one, the zeppelin, etc.) that remind me more of a carnival/beach boardwalk's rides. Plus, if you have little ones, the Bug's Life rides are all very gentle.

Have fun!

I'm also a ride wimp but love Soarin', TSMM, and the *stationary* cars on the Fun Wheel. (My DH isn't a ride wimp except about Ferris wheels, but the Fun Wheel is on his list of things to do again because the view was so great.) Other rides we did were Little Mermaid, Monsters Inc, and the swings (just me). I wanted to do the jellyfish, but they were down.

Mostly I love DCA for the theming, and we spent a lot of time in the walk through exhibits (all the Animation ones were outstanding, plus Blue Sky Cellar) and shows (Muppets, Aladdin).

Same for GRR - no way you'd ever know if anyone had an "accident" on that one!!

Also you can see the whole track of CS and the steepest part of GRR from the queue, so you will know what you're getting into before you get on.

I would say definitely do the things you can't see in WDW like Aladdin, Blue Sky Cellar, Bug's Land, and Car's Land. And you may want to re-think California Screamin' - I think it's one of the best roller coasters ever; it's smooth, fast, the music's awesome, and the view is great. Give it a try!

I don't like drops and did not like California Screamin'. The rocket launch got my adrenalin pumping and it just got worse with the drops and bunny hills.

Some people love it, but if you don't like drops, I'd probably look into riding at night, at least.

I also hate drops. I love all rides at DL except for Splash. ToT is out of the question - won't even try it. I also haven't tried CS b/c looking at it - I see hills I don't want to try. I love GSS and GRR. The hills on GRR don't feel like drops and I love the rest of GSS so much I just deal with the smaller hill. I was talked into the swinging gondolas on Mickey's Fun Wheel and will not be riding that again. And I can't wait to try RSR.

You sound just like me! Thanks for your input.

Thanks! I think it looks fun, but yeah, those drops aren't doing it for me. There's so many other fun things to do there that don't make me feel like vomitting when I look at them, so maybe I should do those instead. ;)
