Sensible as in not over the top priced. I know the wands are around $20.00 and up, but I'd ove to hear what else you have found that won't break the bank.....or sit in a drawer after you get home. ;)

i collect the penny characters out of the machine.
$ .51 and i get a lot of them.

i also do the pins.
in my case, it is not cheap.
i dropped over $800.00 on them trip before last.
last year i was cheap.
$600

do the penny machines at parry hotter.
get the different potter people.

you will find the machines in or by the stores.
different characters at different places for other UO general merch.

for potter stuff, check the website for what is offered to you have an idea of the items available and costs.
(do you need the website?)

some popular items are tshirts, hats, mugs, etc as they are things that will be worn/used after you have left the park and universal.

the robes are costly and would sit in a drawer once you are back home.
wands, personal choice if it is worth it.
they can break.

If you have anyone that likes stuffed animals, they have a few good ones. I bought a good sized Buckbeak for about $25 and he stays on my bed with the Cheshire Cat. :)

Wands are $30. The most sensibly priced souvenir at WW is the jar of hard candies that says Honeydukes on the front. It is a great reusable jar and the candies are yummy. It is under $10.

I like the house tie lanyards. I bought a Slytherin lanyard and wear it almost every day.

I like the keychains and lanyards, because they're around $10 and can serve a purpose :) They also have a really neat selection of cups and mugs that can be a bit pricier but comparable to Disney's prices.

Our butterbeer mugs. We use them on our dressers to hold pens and cosmetic brushes and everytime we see them we think of the great time that we had there. :thumbsup2

These ideas are just what I was looking for!! Thanks for the input and post pictures if you have them.. Us newbies need all the help we can get!!

:surfweb:

We bought the 4-pack tumbler set with the House Crests on them for $12.95. Each plastic cup has the house name and crest on it and on the other size it has "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter". Each cup is a different color, corresponding to each house (Slytherin is Green, Gryffindor is Red, etc.). These cups are awesome - we use ours daily at home, have washed them in the dishwasher many times and they haven't cracked or faded at all. For us, this was a great souvenir buy at a good price. :goodvibes

I also really liked my Slytherin coffee thermos. They have them for all the houses I believe. Also, the timeturner key chain is really cool and I believe it was only about $10.

Well it's only appropriate that SnapesGirl would have a slytherin coffee thermos! ;) Thanks for sharing your picks and btw: great picture of you and Snape!!

I love that you wear it even at home. :)

Apart from the Marauder's Map, I haven't really found anything to be horribly expensive. Or at least, I haven't found anything to be a bad *value*.

The scarves we bought, sure they were $35 each, but we bought them on a freezing cold morning when we really really needed them. My friends who knit were horrified, but hey, they weren't there with me that morning, were they? And even if they were, I would have needed to buy one to wear while I waited for the scarf to be knitted for me. :)

The lanyards are great, I love them. Pins are pins, and are expensive or not depending on if you like them or not.

The souvenir butterbeer mugs are great, for whatever you might use them for. They get you a discount on cold butterbeer at the hogshead and 3 broomsticks, make great presents for someone who couldn't go with you, and are great for drinking out of at home.

if the Marauder's Map actually "worked*, like it works in the stories, it would be a bargain. Since it doesn't, it's just a bunch of paper to me.

The wands...for me they would be silly to get, so I don't get them. For husband and son, they are fabulous, so they get them. It's all relative.

My Gryffindor coffee thermos leaks :sad1: I also love my Butterbeer mug, and my Deathly Hallows keychain. I wear my Gryff lanyard everyday at work and it makes me smile and the kids get a kick out of it (I'm a teacher). :thumbsup2

So, this isn't exactly reasonably priced.... but....

My kids pooled their $ to buy the Monster Book of Monsters. Honestly, of all the stuff we brought back, I love it the most..... and it's more unique than a regular plush animal. It spins around on the floor and growls at you, then you stroke its spine to calm it down. I think it was $30.

Love it. Hard to pinpoint why, but... there you go.

oooh this sounds really cute/fun! i didn't see these for sale when hubby and i went last summer. we went a bit souvenir crazy at wwohp last year  I think we got pretty much everything we could ever want

but i do think i might have to get one of these and some honeydukes candy when we go back in oct...

You can buy HP postcards and have them stamp a Hogwarts postmark on them. My daughter sent those to friends and kept one.

Don't forget Christmas ornaments! I got a beautiful one for about $25 but I think there were less expensive ones too. This was at Filches' Emporium in WWoHP but there may have been even more in the big Christmas Shop at the front of IoA. An ornament is a must-buy for me on any vacation. Brings back great memories of vacations over the years as I decorate the tree. :)

We bought the timeturner key chain last year and use it as a Christmas tree ornament to remember the great time:goodvibes we had here.
