What are the advantages of OLCI?

Now that we have reserved our seats on the Virgin plane, what are the advantages of on-line checkin? If you do OLCI, you still need to go to the desk right, so what is the point?

Now that we have reserved our seats on the Virgin plane, what are the advantages of on-line checkin? If you do OLCI, you still need to go to the desk right, so what is the point?

your seats will only be confirmed when your issued your boarding pass, until then it's only a ''request''
and you get it during online check in or actual check in at the desk

so the sooner you check in, the less likely you'll be shuffled around

with luggage you still need to go to the desk but you usually have a dedicated lane with about 2 people in line instead of the regular 100 pax waiting ... (don't know about twilight check in)

without checked luggage (carry on only) and if you printed your boarding passes at home then you can skip the desk and proceed direct to security
