We leave in one week and we are trying to plan our strategy. When you hit DL, what are the first 5 things on your list, do you have a strategy? And, does it work? I'd love to hear all opinions. My husband and I are particularly disagreeing about which is smarter to do first - IJ or Splash!!!

If I only have one day I usually do Peter Pan, Alice In wonderland, The Matterhorn, Mr. Toad, Snow White and Pinnochio. I can usually get those done in the first 30 minutes. It works much better than waiting 20-40 minutes later in the day or missing them. I would rather wait in the longer lines for the bigger and longer rides. Plus I use fast pass for Indy and Splash Mountain.

I've been advised to head to Indy first thing to grab a FastPass and to save Splash Mountain for later. It never occurred to me to work on Fantasyland after that but it sounds like fun!

We have 2 different strategies .. depends on our mood (adventure or future?):

1. Frontier/Adventure lands: WALK (don't run :D ) to Indiana Jones, grab a FastPass, then ride Jungle Cruise (basically a walk-on that early in the day), then Pirates (still pretty much a walk-on) then back track only slightly to use the Indy FastPass. Then we go grab a Thunder Mtn FastPass (assuming not a walk-on), sprint over to Haunted Mansion to ride, go back to Indy to ride again via the single-rider line, then back to Thunder Mtn to use the FastPass. That's 5 rides, with a double turn at Indy.

2. Tomorrowland: grab a Space Mtn FastPass, go back and ride Star Tours (pretty much a walk-on first thing in the morning cuz everyone else is tearing to Space Mtn), then Astro-Orbiter for the fun of it, then maybe Autopia if the line isn't horrible. Then we'll use the Space Mtn FastPass. Hmmm, that's only 4 rides, I guess ride #5 would be hopping the train to another section of the park....

Our other favorite rides are Splash (grab a FastPass for later in the day while we're over by Haunted Mansion) and Matterhorn (has to FastPass, don't know why, so we time that to hit the line about 5 minutes into a parade time so it's usually a 10 minute wait or less at that point).

WDW2002,
Wow, your list sounds very close to what we had talked about - about how long does it normally take you to ride the 5 rides? And, it seems like most are in agreement (with me) that Splash Mountain should not be the first thing you do, but to wait until slightly later, is that right??

We ususally are there about 30 mins before the park opens and are done with these rides in less then 2 hours (I think). They are usually all walk on or less then 15 min waits.

I go to Fantasyland and demolish that in the first hour of the day. Then, I go pick up Fastpasses for Splash Mountain or Indy. Usually the lines are still very good for that area so we hit Thunder, Pirates, Haunted Mansion or others in the area. Jungle Cruise sometimes gets swamped early on and other times we walk by and almost no wait. Who knows?

I have gone to Space Mountain first before but the line wasn't all that good because everyone else seems to have the same idea in mind. I only tried it one time so maybe that isn't typical.
