What are some things you do NOT like about your FAVORITE resort?

Is there a good reason so many resorts share buses? I see a lot of notes about that here, and the sharing seems unnecessary because all these resorts are fairly large. If POFQ doesn't share buses, why should Poly/GF?

POFQ shares buses with POR during periods when it's not so busy. They have separate buses at park opening and other busy times.

Same for the Epcot resorts - years ago, BWV shared with S&D and Y&B, but finally it has its own bus in the morning and shares only with Y&B during the day when not so many guests are traveling to the parks.

I think Poly and GF share because they're so close together, and during the day there might not be so many guests traveling to AK or to DHS to need separate buses. I think they often get their own buses in the morning when it's busy.

- I do not like that you have to go over to the Contemporary for everything but the pool. My kids love the adventure of it but it gets old
- I do not like the running path that basically just wraps around the buildings - not terribly scenic
- I do not like the dungeon-like gym at the Contemporary
- I do not like the devil-may-care bus stop, also shared with Contemporary. As nice as it is to have the monorail right there and to be able to walk to MK, we've been stuck at the bus stop for quite a while getting to DS, DHS and DAK
Other than that - love it. Love the 2nd bathroom in the 1BRs especially. And no, I do not mind the theming

Truthfully, there isn't anything that I don't like about our home resort AKV. The reasons below which I know others may not agree with and that's ok :)

1) We like that it is "far" from the parks (it really isn't - to us at least). The fact that it is removed gives it more of a peaceful, bucolic feel.
2) The fact that it is bus only is fine with us - if I don't have to drive it's a thumbs up from me.
3) We love the walk between Kidani & Jambo which is no further than the walk from BWV to BCV (I timed it), and we love the stroll between each building - minus the parking lot views ;)
4) We love the food that is offered at each location.
5) The cast members are amazing!
6) It has a freakin' savanna!

We're looking forward to what the the refurbishment will be like - just hoping they don't make it too Marriott-like.
Im a lot like you where I don’t mind the normal negatives people call out for akv but think you also actually hit on my main negative, the age of rooms. I staid there last November and decided I wouldn’t stay there until the rooms refurb. To me it’s ridiculous we are going to be 10years since last refurb before they get to jambo when supposed to be on 7 yr schedule.

My favourite is Poly.

Some things I don't like:
-Sharing buses with GF
-Number of non-resort visitors to restaurants, lobby, pools.
-Would have liked a playground when my kids were younger.
-Points per night

Other than that, it is complete perfection

1. I don't like the fence and gate they put in around the villas pool. Much more cumbersome to walk through the pool area to the back elevator;
haha yesss this fence and gate have hindered my progress coming and going a few times for sure!

I thought The Mara was quick service perfection! If you haven’t had the Harissa Beef Bowl yet….you are in for a treat. And Mickey Waffles in the morning. I love The Mara.😍 I just think Kidani needs a similar option.
I’d also add I have had luck asking them to grab stuff off the Boma buffet. I guess no guarantee they will do it but I wanted to try ox tail soup and they were able to get for me with some sides and charged like a normal price around that of the harissa beef bowl.

But no one on this board is in a position to do anything about making changes at the resorts….so all it does is engage the negative part of brain…. I’m not sure why our society finds the need to constantly look for negativity or things to rage about….
For people like me, trying to pick a resort for a particular occasion, hearing what people disliked the most is extremely useful to my decision-making.

I'm late to this discussion.
Love my BCV. Location and vibe is perfect for us. Yes, the food choices are not up to par with many other resorts, but we make it work by grabbing a bite in the lounges.

BCV - Studio.
  • Why is there not a nightstand on both sides of the bed?
  • There is not a full length mirror anywhere in the studios.
  • There are no hand held showers.
I find it frustrating especially since POP has all of the above.

I absolutely agree. AKV is my fav too and I have no complaints.

Other favs:

SSR
1. Menu is limited at QS especially for plant based options but it doesn’t matter too much since we usually stay in Congress Park and go to DS for food.
2. I prefer the studios here, as the 1 bedroom kitchen is small and there is no access to the balcony from the bedroom.

OKW
1. I don’t love the layout of the studios but that’s okay since I can stay at SSR for a studio, and the 1+ bedrooms here are amazing.
2. It would be nice if food stayed open just a little later, but really this minor since if I’m staying here I am probably in a room with a full kitchen.

Vero
It’s difficult to think of anything they could do better. My one tiny thing is that it would be nice if they kept the coffee in the lobby past 8 or 9 am when the QS opens. The QS is a much further walk when I am sleepy and I have to go outside. That said, I love that they do put it in the lobby early (great for morning walks on the beach). I really wish this one wasn’t a 2042!

Soo agree! I wish there was something in our contract that forces them to do it every 7 years. We needed to sooner.
I love my AKV. But I want a walking path to Ak. That is my biggest issue... it is soo close. Just let me walk there.
And my other complaint of the long hallways but after staying OKW in the summer.... where u have to walk outside for everything. I will take the long AC hallways now and not complain. Lol.

Forgot about this one for VGF - the one bedroom shower layout isn't very good. The soap dispensers and niche are too far away from the shower so you have to move out of the water flow to get to anything.

VGC - cut the trees and let us see WoC from our balconies again. That was magical.
