What are some phrases/sayings you would only understand if you lived in your area?

"Directly" instead of "soon," as in "I'll be there directly."

Sometimes even shortened in pronunication from "directly" to "drectly" or "dreckly."

/
"I grew up on Sesame Street."

Therefore: "Mahna Mahna"

Sometimes I'll thrown in "Da-doo-da-doo-doo" and "Da-doo-doo-doo".

Yat
Who Dat
How's yer mom and dem
Making groceries
Neutral ground
Turnaround
Lagniappe

And if you're not from here, you probably have no idea how to answer, "Betcha I can tell ya where ya got dem shoes."

Three way.
(It’s not that kind of 3 way) 😉

One I do not use, nor do I care for it, saying “please” instead of, “excuse me” or “can you repeat that.” It’s not meant to be offensive but it can sound that way if you’re not used to it.

these are not from where I live now, but where I grew up
