What are some MAJOR differences that you love about the 7 day vs. 4 day?

Other than the obvious, more time on the ship....We just got off the 4 day Wonder and absolutely loved every minute of it. We'd love to book the 7 day, but would love to hear why you love it so much. Thanks.

More times in restaurants
More chance for spa time
More chance for pool time
More time for relax on those Deck 4 chairs
More time to bond with your servers
More chances to experiences everything on board
More chance to meet and make friends
More time to take part in themed activities
Different ports
Two or three sea days (depending on itinerary)
Better chance of having better weather.....odds are out of 7 days you will at least a few sunny ones!!!

To me, the number one reason is the one you pointed out as obvious...more time on the ship... to unwind and relax.....I loved the 4 days before they had the 7 days but always felt that I just unpacked and would have to pack again....on the 7 day you unpack the first day (I unpack as soon as we can get in stateroom) and then you really feel like you had a vacation....7 days are wonderful.

Can't wait for the 14 day in August!!!

I love everything about the 7 day. After you go on a 7 day anything less is just too short. I love the special menus & the extra shows. I think the thing I love the most is the 3 days at sea, there is so much to see & do & it gives you alot of time to see everything there is to see. If you are even thinking about doing a 7 day cruise, I would highly recommend it! :earsboy:

The 7 night includes a character breakfast and more opportunity for a Palo brunch (only available on at-sea days -- only one at-sea day on the 4-night).
Enjoy your cruise!

Thanks, loved your responses!

To Rotary...you mentioned more shows and that got me thinking. I loved the shows on the Wonder (all except Hercules, for some reason that didn't do it for me), can you tell me more about the shows on the Magic? Are there different live shows or are they the same, but they repeat themselves over the weeks time?

The three main stage shows are the same on both ships....but on the 7 day they sometimes have a premEAR showing of the latest disney movie...it is shown in the Walt Disney Theatre. They used to (not sure if they still do) have WWTBAM game show in the Walt Disney Theatre one night...or will have a comedian or juggler, etc.

I have not done the 7 night, but that is what I am planning for 2006. I noticed on our 4 night that our family (kids were 3 and 5) was just getting into the swing of things at the end of the cruise. The kids were just getting used to the idea of going to the kids club for more than 1 hour a day, etc. Once they felt comfortable, it was time to go home. Next time it won't take so long hopefully since it will be familiar.

My kids had the opposite reaction, after about Day 4, they were over the clubs and shows, and dinner, etc. They still had fun, but would probably have had just as much fun getting off the boat and going to the parks. For us adults, I enjoyed the relaxing and not having to pack and unpack every time you turned around, but to be honest, because we just aren't into things like Palo, spa, etc., a 4 day would have probably been just fine for us. Also working against us was having a 4 year old that limited our possibility for a lot of the fun excursions and a rainy day for CC. We did two short beach days on our own in St. Thomas and St. Martain. Not to say the 7 day isn't great, if you can afford it, why not, just a different perspective.

Our first was a 4 night and that's when we fell in love with cruising! And it turned out to be too short a time. We love the 7 night, as stated, more time on the ship, you really get into the routine of ship life and feel so much more relaxed. A function of the longer cruise and having been on more than one voyage. You get a chance to get to know your serving team better, the cruise staff and other cast and crew. It is just easier to enjoy all that the ship and trip have to offer with a few more days.

I agree with every reason previously stated and would also like to add that our family loves formal and semi-formal nights!

Good point, ours do to!

okay, thanks! Now, the formal nights...is it just a tie or does my DH need a jacket too? I sure hope all three sons don't need jackets, a tie will do with them? How bout me? Will a sundress do? I'm not the gown type for just one night.

On both of our 4 night cruises we really weren't ready to get off the ship. We are really looking forward to staying onboard almost twice as long in 2006! :thewave:

We are also really looking forward to Formal Night even though for us it probably means more to carry. We haven't decided yet between the tuxes or suits for DH and DS. When I see everyone's formal cruise pictures in tuxes they look so nice (you can buy a tux on EBay apparently) ;).

I am also looking forward to seeing the Carribbean. :boat: :fish:

The Magic no longer has Hercules. It will be replaced in a couple weeks with a new show Twice Charmed about Cinderella after she finds Prince Charming. There is a movie night too along with a welcome & farewell show. The formal nights are so much fun! The kids love dressing up. (DS would wear a tie with every shirt he owns if I let him. LOL!) You will hear alot of debate about that one though. They do request appropriate dress but you do NOT have to get a tux & gown. A nice cocktail dress would be just fine.
