What are my odds for BWV standard view?

I am doing a "last minute" trip to WDW for September 8-11. Thought about staying at Boardwalk because it will make it easier for my weekend plans.

So what are my odds of getting a Standard View studio at BWV for that weekend?

I really do not want to spend more points than that, and will try OKW if I can not get BWV.

First thing in the AM I will be calling Member Services!

Debbie

That's the Night of Joy weekend, so it may be hard. You are right at the 60 day mark when any non reserved points rooms go to CRO (but they are also still available for points). You might be able to get OKW or SSR.

I tried 5 months out for august and I crashed and burned! Should have used my 11 month window, but was kinda last minute. No problem at SSR though...

I crunched the free dining numbers and found out using our DVC and buying DDP was wayyyy cheaper!! :thumbsup2

So I called on Wed 7/5 and all I could get at BWV was preferred view (no BW views) for 9/16-9/21. Frankly, I was shocked they had any studios at all.

Good luck, you may get lucky!! :wizard:

Thanks! I had forgotten it was Night of Joy. It is also the same weekend as the pin event.

I will try! Can't hurt.

Please let us know how it goes when you call MS.

Well I just called. They had a Standard View for Sept 8 but not 9 or 10. So went with OKW and waitlisted for BWV.

Ya never know!

Debbie

Waitlisting is the way to go! In April, I booked OKW for DD and me for next month, but just before the Fourth had to reduce the number of days for our trip:sad1: . The MS rep was wonderful (I can't remember her name!), and she said, 'let's see how we can use up those points.' Because I'm under 30 days, the points were going into holding, so better to try to use them than potentially lose them. Her next question, 'how about a BWV or BCV waitlist? Would that be OK?'

Um, Heck YEAH! We still had OKW, but now were on automatic approval for a waitlist for BWV or BCV.

BWV studio standard view came through the next day.

So, get on that list! Hopefully, you'll have the same good luck I did! Here's some pixie dust for you! pixiedust:

Debbie - I'll be staying at BVW for the pin event too. Let me know if you need a ride to the Figment event as we will have a car.

Can't wait!

Cyn

We were booked to go to BWV preferred view from Sept. 17 - 20 and switch to SSR from Sept 20 - 23. Decided it might be less relaxing to move with 2 kids 1/2 way through trip so waitlisted for both parts of our trip as Standard BWV 2 bdrm.
Well as it stands now... we will be still in a 2 bdrm preferred view @ BWV from Sept. 17 - 20 and a standard 2 bedroom view @ BWV on Sept 20- 23.
Still hoping our waitlist will come through for standard view for fisrt 1/2 of trip but if not, at least we only have to change rooms and not resorts.
Pixie dust that our waitlist comes through though pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: :tinker:

Thanks for the :pixiedust I am happy with OKW so that is not a big deal, but will be nice to be at BWV.

Hey Cyn, not actually doing the pin event, just hanging with some friends...while they are at the pin event :) There is always the possibility of me having to cancel because of work so I am not signing up for the event.

Wishing you the Best .
A few more points wont kill ya !!
Since you have not stayyed, treat yourself you deserve it .
go preferred view !!

I'm wait listed as well, but in the beginning of October.

I've got a 2-Bedroom at the BWV (preferred view) booked for 10/2-10/5, I'm waitlisted for 10/6....the last day of my trip....

...it hasn't come thru yet....so here I am at 70-something days....worrying that my trip will be cut short :( The wonderful lady at DVC said "it's looking good" but I have no idea what that means or where she would get that info from.....see, this is me freaking out!!!! :worried:

I would just stay somewhere else to calm my own nerves (since SSR & OKW are still open) but I'm going with Disney First-Timers and I really want everything to be perfect (I've also never stayed at BWV, so I'm pretty exited too)....(on a totally different note.... my friends let me plan out their entire vacation...I was in heaven!!!)

Just out of curiosity.....has anyone ever NOT gotten what they were waitlisted for (except for the busy times of year)??

If it helps, I think you will get that last day. 10/6 is a Friday and since it costs more points, it is more likely to be cancelled than a weekday.
Also FWIW, I think the best chance of cancellations at this point is the 31 day mark (so you may have a bit of a wait before anything happens). Be sure to keep in contact with MS around that time - you'll want to ask to stay on the waitlist if you don't get your day before then. (Waitlists get "wiped out" at 31 days and you have to request to stay on it if you want to waitlist beyond that time).

Single days come through more often than "groups" of days, so again, that increases your chances.

Good luck! Hope your friends are both impressed and appreciative of all your worry and hard work.

Best wishes -
