What are my chances - VBR at 7 months

DH wants do do a split trip next spring between BWV (our home) and VBR. I'm thinking that it would be best to reserve all of the nights at BWV at this time, and then when 7 months rolls around, make the switch (the points are about comparable). DH really has his heart set on trying out VBR, and really isn't interested in spending a whole week at WDW, since we're planning on taking a big family trip in the Fall next year.

How has everyone's luck been with securing ressies for Vero at the 7 month point? We'll most likely be lookign at an Inn room or Studio.

We own at BW and have successfully booked at Vero with less than 7 months notice twice. We booked last Labor Day weekend with about 2 months notice for an Inn room and booked 3 nights in March with about 5 months notice for a Beach Cottage. The BC was much harder to get and we had to be very flexible with our dates.

I think your strategy is a good one. Book the whole week at BW just in case you can't get Vero. And, then at 7 months book the Inn room for the days you want. I would definately go with the Inn room instead of a studio for the view. The Inn room has the microwave, under the counter fridge and sink area just like the studio. The layout is more like a hotel room but you get the incredible view of the ocean which is not guaranteed with the studio.

You are going to love Vero beach. We have always been able to book it on short notice. The most we have had was a month out. So good luck! We did a split trip with BWV and VB last year and it was great.

We managed to book an ocean room view inn/studio at Vero with only a week and a half out. This is for the end of May. So I don't think you will have a hard time for next spring...and I would always recommend using the waitlist--it seems to work very well.

We book with points at OKW and then cash at VB. When the window rolls around we switch from cash to points. It has never been a problem.

I don't know what your dates are for next spring, but we were able to get reservations at VB just 5 months out for this past March. I called MS and said something like "I doubt if this is possible, but. . ." and was so surprised when they had exactly what we wanted for the exact dates. We spent three nights at OKW and then 5 nights at VB in a 1 bedroom. Have a back-up plan definitely but from my experience, you have a good chance!

We were able to get a inn room with ocean view for May 30 and May 31 with 5 weeks notice.
