What are my chances for Thanksgiving?

So, we have a trip planned to GF this year, but thinking of joining DVC w/AKV as our home resort. If we do so, we'd like to book that (or wait til the 7 month mark) and book Wilderness Lodge Villas for a 2 bedroom for the week of Thanksgiving. Is this at all realistic, or will AKV be gone in the next 2 weeks, or before we'd be able to close on our purchase? I saw the wait list thread for Dec and its making me nervous!

Also, am I able to book from the time we purchase, or would we need to wait til our closing? Thanks!

I don't own at either, but I would think booking VWL for Thanksgiving might be real hard...

VWL is very tough at Thanksgiving or Christmas. We have 100 points there just to do that. But, if you haven't purchased yet, talk to your guide and see if they can at least get your AKV if that will be your home.

What about other resorts, like BCV and BWV? Are those difficult that week as well? Also, is it more difficult to do the 2 bedroom, or any reservation in general?

All of the smaller resorts can be a problem for that week but as someone said maybe your guide can help you out. You could also waitlist for the time and it will probably come through. You should be able to make reservations before closing. I think others have reported being able to do so as soon as they had their deposit in. I would think they would have to be for a time frame after the closing but could be made before it.

Last year we booked at the 7 month mark for Thanksgiving week. The only availability was at SSR and OKW. We booked at SSR for a 2 br and a studio.
