We have been reading the dessert posts on the boards and we were wondering what Ko Ko Puffs were from Kona Cafe. Thanks for any replies.

Highly overrated IMO. Here's a pic...

I'm a chocoholic and prefer the Kilauea Torte. :)

And here are some more pix of the Kona Cafe.

We tried the KoKo Puffs once, and the pastry cream they used had the exact color and consistency of mashed potatoes. I couldn't get that image out of my head and it kind of grossed me out.

I really like them. Ko Ko Puffs are cream puffs filled with chocolate pudding and topped with a buttery chantilly. The one's at the Kona Cafe are good, but not as tasty as the original which you can get at the Liliha Bakery in Honolulu, Hawaii. The original ones in Hawaii are called coco puffs. In my opinion, Koko Puffs are a little bit of heaven right here on Earth and reason enough to make a special trip to the Poly. As someone else said, they are cream puffs, but rather than having plain ol' chocolate pudding inside, they had the lightest, richest, smoothest chocolate filling imaginable. It sort of reminds me of the fillling in French silk pie, if you're familiar with that.

I can't wait to go back to the Kona for Koko Puffs and coffee!
