What are eTicket Pins?

Hello,

I tried Googling it but couldn't find the answer... I got a pin that says "E-ticket" on the back and I have no idea what that means. Can anyone tell me?

A long time ago in a DisneyWorld /Disneyland far far away, (Sorry Star Wars Weekends lapse) you needed a ticket to ride a ride in the parks. Of course the entrance fee to get in was somewhere in the neighborhood of $3. Anyway, you would buy books of tickets which had letters from A to E. An A ride would be something like the firetruck going up or down Main St. A C ride would be something like Dumbo. The best rides were the E ticket rides (Pirates, HM, Space Mountain, etc.)

After they got rid of the ticket system, the E ticket monikor hung around to mean the best rides. So Disney has now started a series of pins to highlight what they consider the best rides. Unfortunately, it does not equate to the old ticket system as one of the first in this series was Dumbo, which really was a C ticket.

Hehe, I liked the Star Wars intro. Thanks for the history lesson! Still a little confused because the pin isn't ride related (I think) so maybe I just traded for a nice pin? Yay!

Can you post a pic of the pin or describe it better? Then we can help determine why they may have stamped it E Ticket on the back? Just a thought.

Oops, I don't know why I didn't think of describing it (all I get is blur when I try to take a pic).. I looked at it closer and see that Mickey is actually on Big Thunder Mountain. There's a little mountain in the background, Mickey with one hand in the air, and the front of a train. I thought he was on a "real" train this whole time until I looked closer and saw the roller coaster looking seats with a bar. I'm such a dork sometimes but thanks for helping me figure it out!!
