What are dole whips?

I have heard people say they love these...whar are they and where do you find them? LOL I feel silly asking but I truly have no clue what it is. I think of whipped cream...am I close?

The Dole Whip that I've had is either pineapple or raspberry flavored. It is a dairy free treat that is the consistancy of soft serve icecream. It is truly delicious. The only place I can get them around here is the MN State Fair--good thing I go tomorrow!!

After reading so much about Dole Whips on the Dis we tried them in June (our 9th visit to the world) and couldn't believe what we were missing. They are so yummy and refreshing on a hot (or cold) day!!

The stand in Adventureland where Dole Whips are sold is called Aloha Isle.

Dole Whips are so yummy, especially on a hot day.

Hey lilpritch04--I was at the MN State Fair yesterday and today!!!! ( I was working at the Kare11 Health Fair doing cholesterol checks!!)

I had a Dole WHip both days and they were great!!!

My DS(4) is allergic to milk and eggs and he loves these.

I can't wait to find them next week down at WDW.

Are they like soft ice creams on a cone with pieces of pineapple in them, or are they in a tub, which you eat with a spoon. Pardon the ignorance - being from Ireland I have never heard of them except on these boards. I am going to ASMo in November and would like to try one.

call disney dining for a confirmation---they would perhaps be able to find out directly for you--

I think they have a "slushy/icy" kind of concoction somewhere--or you can get it mixed with soft-serve. I don't do ice cream, but had something that didn't seem to have milk in it. But alas, don't recall.

Mine was in a clear cup that you ate with a spoon. It was pineapple soft serve in fresh pineapple juice. I called my co-workers at work just to discuss it with them while I was eating!

OK, granted I have only had Dole Whip at the MN State Fair, but there it is definitely dairy free. It is a fruit juice based frozen treat that looks like soft serve ice cream. I'm not sure about the ones people are talking about with soft serve and pineapple chunks or anything like that. At the MN State Fair, you can get Dole Whip in a waffle cone, cake cone, or dish. It is very tasty. This year they also had a vanilla flavor, but I'm not sure if that was dairy free or not--I just stuck with pineapple raspberry swirl
