What are Crowds Like in Late-May?

Hi everyone! We were planning our first family trip to DLR in fall 2013, but we think we're going to have to move it up to May 2013.

Are the crowds horrendous by that time or is it still manageable? We would probably be there for the last week in May.

They are not bad until Memorial Day Weekend. On that weekend they are big as with any weekend, but since almost every kid has school, other than those 3 days it calms down again.

This year, 2012, may be a special case, and who know what it will be like in another year. Carsland may be open and drawing in extra crowds. For the end of May this year it's more like playing roulette, who knows what the number will be.

Thank you! I didn't even think about Memorial Day, so that is a very good point! Is it only Memorial Day weekend that would be crowded? We're going to try and plan it so that we avoid the weekends. Hopefully.

All weekends are busy, that one happens to be 3 days long.


One problem is, during the week hours are short and there is less entertainment. So you need to include a weekend to get fireworks, Fantasmic and long hours. It's a trade off with more crowds.

Thanks again! We might plan one day over the weekend, but we tend to be early risers to the parks, so I don't think we would miss the long hours. We also saw Fantasmic at WDW and even though I loved it, it scared my youngest, so we would skip that anyway . It's the crowds I try to avoid.

We're mainly going for Carsland since my kids are obsessed with the movie and I want to get out west before they get too big to enjoy it to the fullest. We would definitely try and work in a night for fireworks though!

A year plus out kids will change. Fantasmic is a bit better at DLR. The Fireworks much better. So I wouldn't rule them out right now. A blend of weekend and weekdays is the way to go in slow seasons.
