what are 5-7 year old boys interested in

Pokemon
Bakugan (both of these for K-2nd grade--notsomuch preschool)

Legos

Do they have a DS? Games for that.

Star Wars

Indiana Jones (my guy *loves* Indy even though he's never seen the movie? :lmao: )

Superheros in general (Spiderman, Batman, etc)

My son is 7 and he likes nerfguns and for Christmas he wants anything thats remote control. He also likes monster trucks. Have fun!

Keep in mind, kids are either into star wars, or have no interest - same with action heros, pokemon, bakagun... A lot of boys like legos, and my boys both love nerf guns.

My son is 7, and he would love any of these things! ;)

It's iffy with characters because some kids like them, some don't so unless you know I would try to stay away from them. I think you would be safer with the classics: cars, Matchbox sets, wooden blocks, nerf guns, age appropriate board games, age appropriate remote control cars/trucks. Or depending where you live you could do some kind of outdoor toy like sleds, skateboards, etc.

My DS6 loves Star Wars, cars, legos, r/c cars, nerf guns, and anything he can use outside.

i wonder about the apples to apples disney version. i will have to check the age recommendation for this - for the 7 year old. His parents are both teachers and I know they would take the time to play with him

My 8-yo has the regular Apples to Apples, and he really likes it. My 6-yo loves cars, Cars, anything with wheels.

My boys are 5 and 6 and they love Legos and Star Wars. Going to be quite a Christmas this year since the only things on their list are Star Wars Legos. I think we'll be building Legos until next Christmas.

Mine is into....

nascar, star wars, legos, monster trucks, match box cars.

My 5 y/o is into Thomas the Train toys and videos. He also likes Legos a LOT. R/C stuff (make sure it's age appropriate though!), Hot Wheels, anything related to Dogs, and Toy Story Midway Mania on the Wii.

Also, classic toys like Tinkertoys, standard blocks, Lincoln Logs, etc. These are things my son plays with DAILY!

He is not at ALL into "superheroes" or "action figures". Not at ALL! So, you gotta know the kid.

Legos, I saw a book about how to build the perfect paper airplane that I might get my DS, Spy gear items. Ask your nephews what stuff they like. The Hess Truck is also a must get each year.

My DS is 6 and he is into anything Mario, Sponge Bob, Pokemon, Bakugan, Wii, Nintendo DS, loves Nerf guns, legos, and just about any kind of game.

Wii games
musical instruments
sketch pads/markers
music cd's
movies
