I got:

Your accent is as Philadelphian as a cheesesteak! If you're not from Philadelphia, then you're from someplace near there like south Jersey, Baltimore, or Wilmington. if you've ever journeyed to some far off place where people don't know that Philly has an accent, someone may have thought you talked a little weird even though they didn't have a clue what accent it was they heard. No surprise since I spent most of my informative years in Philly and the 'burbs of Philly.

Find out what accent you have!

You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

Pretty much what I was going to say. :) :)

Your Result: The Midland

That's pretty amazing! It got mine on the nose.

Your result: Inland north

You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."

I went through several months when I first moved to New Mexico where people couldn't understand me. :teeth: I talked too fast.

I am originally from South Louisiana (lived their from birth to age 32). I have lived on the outskirts of Charlotte for 3 years. I am definitely from the south. I am glad to know that I don't have a typical southern accent, though.

Mine says the midland, but I say I have a, what we call, "down da bayou" accent 50% of the time and normal the other 50%

I had the same problem when I moved from Philly to Maine!

Boston:
You definitely have a Boston accent, even if you think you don't. Of course, that doesn't mean you are from the Boston area, you may also be from New Hampshire or Maine.

Close but not quite. I have a cross between a Boston and a RI accent

They gave me Philly, too and I'm from Brooklyn....

When I first moved to Maine, people would ask me if I was from New York. :confused3

I got Philadelphia as well. I was born in Illinois, grew up in CT, but I'm constantly being asked "Are you from England?" :confused3

It got mine right. :thumbsup2

Of course it's POP!

Your Result: The West

Your accent is the lowest common denominator of American speech. Unless you're a SoCal surfer, no one thinks you have an accent. And really, you may not even be from the West at all, you could easily be from Florida or one of those big Southern cities like Dallas or Atlanta.

I've lived in New England all my life. I've been telling people all along that I don't have an accent! ;)

I had to jump in and say:
Hey beck0321! I am originally from Livingston Parish right outside of Baton Rouge, born and raised there until I was 32! I definitely expected to read that I had the southern/bayou accent!

Northeast ............ New "Yawk" City to be exact! Whatta surprise! :teeth:

:rotfl: I live in Fort Worth..........30 miles from Dallas.
