What am I to do with these points?

So here is that background. We have a Dec. use year. We have ** points left this year which are banked from the year before so they have to be used. We are essentially always one year ahead. This year's points went to pay for a trip in December with family.
So the problem is this... I don't have the finances to buy tickets to go to disneyland, it is too expensive to fly across the U.S. and the conceirge collection is very limited to the west coast. Plus I am taking my kids out of school for so long in December that I don't want to use any more days for vacation this fall. What do I do??? I think renting them will be too difficult as most days are taken up for the fall.

I know this is my fault for not thinking ahead. I should have used these points earlier in the year, but December was not decided until recently at the arm twisting of my family. I have thought about going to DLH without going to the parks, but my kids were not keen on the idea and honestly I would not be believe they would be ok with it when we got there anyway.

I thought about an adult trip, but I can't help but feel guilty about the kids not going to Dis. I have spent so much time thinking about it, I am like over going anywhere now, which is so not me.

HELP!!!!:sad2:

Have you tried to rent them cheap
. How about booking them for relatives, BIG x-Mas party bash, or going thru RCI to have a local office party bash in some rooms? Anything is better than letting them expire

Have you tried David's Vacation Rentals? He advertises on these boards. I believe he rents points for $13.00 and you get 10.00 a point. I hope you can work something out!

Would you be interested in a future trade via RCI?

If so, call MS and see what your options might be for that.

Since you are within the last 4 months of your use year, it may be a "late deposit" which would limit your choices / how far in advance you could look for a match, but it would extend the life of your points and be better than just letting them expire.

Good luck!

Those are some very interesting options, especially the RCI one. I did not know that you could even do that. I thought about David's, but it is too late in the year. Thanks everyone.

I wouldn't assume it's too late without checking and I think you might be surprised. Nothing hurt in inquiring.

I agree. I have used Dave's services before and they are very nice and professional. They may recommend you take less for the points, put them on special so to speak, where maybe you might only get $5-$6 per point, but that's better than letting them expire. You could also advertise the points at a cheap rate on this board or ****************

good luck

I appreciate that I could maybe get $5-$6 a point. I think I would rather let a friend or employee use them to go to disneyland rather than take such a huge hit. At least someone would get some enjoyment out of it.
