What AKV room category will you request?

Slightly OT, has anyone seen a room layout or map of the proposed villas yet?

There's a "schematic" over in the AKV schematics thread that gives you a good idea of the general layout of the new building.

Nobody, as yet, has posted (or even reported to have seen) a room layout diagram. Hopefully soon....

Yup, that's us (family with 3 kids) and it's largely the reason we're deciding to "jump in" to DVC with AKV....it saves us points, in the long run, because we don't have to "pay" for a 2BR. It limits us on our options of staying at other resorts, but....for now I can live with that. I'm sure addon-itis will hit at some point, and we'll "expand" our points pool a bit.

Will probably bounce between Std. & Savanna depending on our pt. balance at the time... We actually had a really crappy savanna view when we stayed at the AKL before so want to hear feedback to find out if it's worth the xtra pts. We were bummed when we went - we were all the way down at the end on the back, sorta behind the pool - there was never more than 1 animal at a time out there - and often none at all! So will probably try it again - at least the first time, but probably not always...

The reason I purchased points was to get the 11 month booking window to get that view. I would be very unhappy at AKV if I didn't have a view of animals.

Voted savannah view. That is the reason we love the resort. No view and we might as well stay at VWL -- an equally well themed resort with a better location.

The only significant advantage to the concierge level at AKL (and I assume this is the same for the villas) is access for additional cost to the sunrise and sunset safaris. For those we might book up to concierge on some trips (even if for only one night). I do find it odd that the most expensive villas do not guarantee you a premium view.

I put Savvana becacuse not owning AKV points will not lend itself to asking for Concierge. I would love to stay Concierge just once but am afraid it will not happen unless I can do a trade with someone sometime.

Savannah View all the way baby! Hopefully, with our SSR points and small amount of AKV points, we can get a 1 bedroom SV when we go NEXT year! This year, we are staying at WLV. We can't go any later than the middle of August, as we don't know when DD needs to start college! Next year, we will have a better handle on things and may be able to go when things are a little more quiet there! AKL has always been my first choice and we are thrilled it has become a DVC Resort!
