I'm planning on doing an autograph book for my almost 5 year old. I also have a 2 year old. Do you think that's too young for an autograph book? She likes to be the same as her big sister but I don't think she'll be able to go up to a character and ask.
Any thoughts from Disney veterans?

If she likes to be like her big sister, then I would probably get her one.

She is going to see her sister looking thru her book often & I can see where she might want to keep grabbing her big sis's book to turn the pages & big sis might not like getting her book messed up.

My kids even like looking thru their books once we are home from our trips.

We ended up buying my DD3 two autograph books in December. She loved the characters and now has 2 cool keepsakes. Even though she really didn't know how to ask, she knew to just give the character the book and pen and if the character didn't see it, I would help her out by asking for her. The books that hold the pictures on one side and the signature on the other works really well for toddlers who can't read yet since they have a picture to go with it.

She definitely needs a book! She won't really have to "ask" the characters to sign. If they are signing in line or at a character meal, either you or your older dd can hand them the pen and book and they will sign, especially if your oldest gets a signature. I think the characters pretty much expect it and they will know what to do. All the characters we have come across have been very gentle w/ both of our daughters.

At age 2 my son loved the characters but didn't care at all about autographs. His sister (then 4) loved getting autographs. We recently returned from another trip (kids now 6 and 4) and DS once again didn't care about autographs. Oh, and he also likes to do almost everything like big sis.

The autographs are fun and are a major part of my DD6's trip so I'm not bashing them, but some of the characters take FOREVER to sign. If your younger DD doesn't care about autographs or can "share" a book with older DD you will save a lot of time in character lines. Otherwise, definitely get her a book. Characters are equally important to my children as rides.
