what age for autograph books

My dd loved getting her autograph booked signed during her first trip to WDW, when she was 2 1/2 yo.

On our last trip I bought my 2 yo daughter one of the Disney autograph books to color/draw in when she got fidgety in line waiting for rides. We went to Chef Mickeys for lunch the next day and she is absolutely beside herself because she couldn't find her book and pen...now I had no idea why she was so upset, so I pull out the book and figure she wanted to color while waiting for the characters. Next thing I know she is running down the aisle and holding her book and pen out for Mickey to sign her book. I have no idea how she knew that was what the book was for since we had not gotten autographs from any of the characters. It was so cute to see her "understand" the concept. So I say go for it

My daughter had one at two and she loved getting the autographs. Se wasn't that thrilled at meeting the characters. She just wanted them to sign the book. The little blue book they have at Disney World isn't too expensive and I have used the same book for 3 different trips.

Definately have to second that it really depends on your kiddo. DD has never been afraid of the characters so she always ran right up to them. At 2, we did not give her an autograph book. She did take one on our last trip and enjoyed it. She looks at the book all the time. The characters do seem to be well trained to only sign on one side of the page so you can use them for scrapbooks. My only advise is to not force your child to go get autographs if they are scared. SUCH a pet peeve of mine...yes, I know you spent a lot of money and yes, I know you want a pic of your child with Mickey but if they are terrified...DON'T MAKE THEM DO IT! I see this every trip w/o fail.
