I will be staying at AKL this September and when I called the resort the nice lady said that we would not need to be moved and that all the animals will be out in the Savanah. Is this true? I have heard that they have had to cut back on the amount of animals out in the Savanah because the animals were getting scared.

I don't know how the lady knew we wouldn't need to be moved because I thought they didn't know your room assignment until you got there and I really want to go there to be able to go out on the balcony and see the animals. Saying that, I would not want AKL to feel like they had to have any animals out in the Savanah if it were bringing distress to the animals. I would rather them just close the lodge for awhile and open it up when all the construction was over.

By the way I am pretty sure I butchered the word "Savanah" sorry.

well the pictures on the DVC of construction don't show the animals scare - in fact they are acting just as people would at the construction.

they were looking....

of course that could be a problem - you look to see them outside your balcony and they are all at the construction site looking over the fence.

A CM told me that any animals that were stressed were moved to a different savanna - there are 3 at AKL so ample opportunities to adjust. Just like people some animals are more bothered by noise than others. We were there June 20-23 on the Arusha Savanna, Kudu Trail. Plenty of animals; none seemed stressed (and we heard no noise from our room).
