The menu looks pretty good to me, but I haven't heard much about the food here. How's the food?? Is it any good???:confused3

The food is not great, but the movie memorabilia is fantastic and being in the globe is kinda cool. It is a little bit noisier than your average Disney restaurant. The menu is big with straight American fare, but again, not spectacular. Go for the kitsch, not for the dish.

Let me give full disclosure before I give my opinion. We ate there in 2005 with my daughter (food allergies) and we had a bad experience with unaccommodating servers. They didn't even try. We got the impression that they really didn't care whether or not she found something on the menu she could eat. We weren't asking for anything special to be made, we just wanted to know what was safe for her.

Now, imho, the only thing worse than the service was the food, and I'm pretty easy to please. Save your money and try something else. The memorabilia alone isn't worth a visit. To each his own though.

We LOVE the food there - one of our favorite places. Now, I must say, we are the type who routinely eat at TGIF, Applebees, Red Robin - so this is our type of food! Le Cellier, we are not!
As for service - ugh. totally lousy. Last time we were in there forever waiting for our food. Then waited another 20 minutes for him to bring back our slips for us to sign after we got the check and handed him our cards.
Time prior - again, very slow service.
I thought the kid choices were great at PH.
We also enjoy it because it's a nice break from all the buffets we do.

have also done TRex - I'd say the food is better there - and the service was great! Have friends that just went and they agreed - said it was a favorite meal of the whole trip.

If you are looking for an upbeat atmosphere with Chilis / Applebees type food PH can be fun. It does get busy and loud at night. Our party of 9 ate various things. The burger was fine, the spinach dip was good, one enjoyed the LA Lasagna which was different. And it's hard to mess up nachos. Our service was terrible but it was the waitress we had and so I wouldn't tell anyone not to go there because as kooky as she was I'm sure she's long gone.

OKaaayy, I guess it's not a favorite. We are Chili's fans though, and it was the kind of food we were looking for. I would really prefer the TRex, but it's not on the dining plan  . Any other suggestions for a TS in DTD??

Thanks,

We've been twice and it's not good! A cool place but bad food, bad service, and high prices if you're paying OOP.

For our TS at DTD we're going to try Wolfgang Puck Cafe on our visit in September. It sounds pretty good! I also want to try the Wolfgang Puck counter service place, it's supposed to be really good.

If the food/service is not so good, then why does WDW include a voucher when you purchase a package?

To help Planet Hollywood's business? The $15.00 coupon will draw people there and they will end up spending money there. It's better to give a $15.00 discount and keep the place full instead of not. JMHO.

We went there last year just because we had the coupon and our package with DDP didn't start until the next day. Plus, we are never that hungry on our travel day. I guess the excitment and all.

We thought the food and service was just OK. The restaurant itself was so loud we couldn't even yell at each other across the table. The tables are placed so close together that you can't pull the chairs out and you are sitting closer to the people at the next table than you are to the people you are sharing a table with.

Would we go again??? Probably not....it just was not worth the $15 that we saved. That says a lot considering that we are always on a strict budget.

I have been going here for years. I have never had a bad experience, decent food, good service, great theme. A little loud though.

When I was planning our February trip, I researched PH because of the coupons we were receiving. What I found convinced me to toss them, and we will again, when we receive them for our upcoming September visit.
The consensus was:
1. So loud you can't hear each other talk.
2,. Lousey food.
3. Worse service.
4. A convincing report that if you're on the dining plan, they cut the serving size.
Restaurants that consistently give-out discount coupons do so because most diners never come back again!
