what a weekend

we took a long weeke nd over presidents day and were sposded to go to the gulf coast, it turned out colds and wet, so we decided against taking kids to the gulf in the rain, and decided just the grown ups would go over to N'orleans for the evening, take in a parade , and then hang out in the Quarter for a while after wards, we let our friend we were staying with drive, because he wanted to show us some of the storm damage that you couldnt see from the interstate, said it would take about 2 hours, maybe 21/2 to get there from hattiesburg.

we take off and he gets lost. we end up about 45 miles west of n'orleans and by the time we backtracked and got into town we had missed hte parades for the day, so we head over and eat at gumps shrimp, not bad meal, had better, but not bad,, left there and walked hte quarter a while,, we realized reallly quick that we would not see much as our friend covered about 2/3 of bourbon street in about 15 min,, he was moving so fast at one point dw and i just stood still and waited till he came back by looking for us..lol.. took him about 10 yards to realize we werent there.. the crowds were really light, grantred it was cold and wet, but we had fun, dw got a whole bag of beads throw to her from a balcony,, and ovver all we had fun. just not the relaxing long weekend we had planned,
