Aaahhh, my mother's ultimate revenge. She was the queen of second-hand shopping. Why buy something nice, new and stylish when you could find last season's half price? I just called my parents and told them I now know what I'm doing when they're gone. Mom insisted I make her into a pendant, Dad wants to be the head of a walking cane. That happens, I have two Christmas presents for my brothers all ready to go! Woo hoo!

I'n not totally weirded out by it. It's too much money but to me it isn't any more gross than keeping you loved ones ashes in an urn on the mantel.

I've been thinking about having my aunts ashes incorporated into some sort of jewerley for my 2 cousins and I. Currently the ashes that we didn't spread are in a ziplock on the top shelf of my closet. Everyone else was too weirded out by them in their homes so instead of leaving them under the seat in my dad's car, which is where they were, I took them with the intention of having something made.

I'm not really looking at lifegems but there are some places that will incorporate the ashes into blown glass vases, glass pendants, things like that. As soon as I have enough extra cash to have them made I probablly will.

I don't find it gross either. I think if something happened to someone very close to me I would love to have a pendant or something tangible to be able to touch every once in a while. My grand daddy always said I was a diamond in the rough when I was growning up...maybe I could be the real thing one day.
