What a dlrp do you hate? not including other people

This is how hearing things against my beloved IASW makes me feel too!

Love love love this ride, although I was dissappointed that the ceiling is so obvious at the paris one, makes me feel too much like I'm in a big warehouse.

Looking at my DLCa photos the ceiling is completely hidden....a lot more magical!

Sorry for hating IASW, once is my limit, otherwise the song will get stuck in my head for the rest of the day:lmao:

Agreed! Great ride but with an annoyingly addictive song! Once in a row is enough for me, although I'll gladly take another trip round on a different day.

See just, reading this thread has got that song back in my head :rotfl2:

Sign of great writing!!!

Some antedotes include other inspired Sherman numbers such as:

Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow
One Little Spark
Supercalifragilisticexpealodocious

I would so love to see the band on Mainstreet.

This sort of quote makes me sad. Back in the early to late 1990's you couldn't walk down Main Street WITHOUT seeing a band (not always the same one either)

It's one of the things that I personally miss the most but that I guess most guests don't even know happened.

My wife didn't believe the amount of stuff that has been removed from the park until I dug out old photo's.

In terms of what to take out I'd get rid of Autopia and use a new E ticket ride there to spark Discoveryland back into its former glory (and as an excuse to get the flames back!!)

Hmmmm, I would reduce the number of rubberheads and replace it with more theme specific streetmousphere, bands, stuntmen etc. (Same with shopping and dining choices).

I would get rid of all the cheap funfair stuff in the Village.

I would also get rid of the dining options in Discoveryland and start over adding quality options.

Spot on Dave :thumbsup2

I'd also put a little variety/quality back into the shops.

Sort out the Pirates ride so you don't end up in a queue of boats at the end of the ride. It's okay the first few times as it gives you an opportunity to look at some of the last sets up close....but kills the atmosphere for me now.

The indian village and pirate play areas are important, but they're just too small for Disney's scale (I've seen larger play areas in local parks), and lack sufficient seating for us 'older kids'.

How many trains are there, one or two? As much as I love it ride around the park, the queue is just too long most of the time.

I quite like HISTA (when all the effects are working), but the pre-show must go!

The Space Mountain 2 coaster needs replacing with one that doesn't kill so many brain cells.

I am very sad by everything we have lost because of the financial woes, or the concentration on toons. It is heartbreaking because at one time DLP was the finest Disney park on the planet. Sadly, those who are new visitors or were children when they first went, don't recognise and don't know any better. Compared to the other Disney resorts around the globe, our entertainment offerings are well behind (though we have the best quality stage shows!!!!).

As for Autopia, I cannot agree. And once your little one is 4 or 5 you will probably ome over to my side. The pure glee my son has chauffering his dad (and cracking up when I tell him I am too young to die). Autopia and the tea cups are totally in his top 10.

There are 4, it is designed so the max wait should be about 10 minutes. Sadly ops never seem to run them to capacity (and nor do they tend to run all day either

My main gripe with Autopia is that whenever I go it is not open!. For me it represents a waste of space, a ride that could be excellent but that just doesn't seem to operate enough to make it worthwhile.

Sorry, I forgot about this, and I know it won't be a popular choice but....I HATE the Character Express

I'm not a huge character fan anyway, and the Express makes an appearance so frequently, it just kills the Main St atmosphere for me.

....and that dreadful song :headache:

Oh Mark - I love that song - I'm usually already waiting somewhere along Main St just to hear the first strains of that song - then I'm dancing and going "whoo - whoo" long before Casey Jnr can be seen :cool1: :cool1: !

I'm not that fussed about the characters on it though, and apart from the first time we saw it, we haven't joined the scrum once for autographs/photos.

 How can you say that??:lmao:

I love the Character Express the song is sooo catchy!!

Its ok Markpsych (took me three attempts to spell that) - I am not a big fan either. Not particularly character-fussed, and the train seems pretty frequent. I don't mind the song, but the train does rather jam up Main street.

I'd probably lose IASW too, have ridden it precisely once in god knows how many trips, i hate it; Autopia is NEVER open, so that can go; Nautilus - is it even still open? Dull.

That's it though - I don't hate anything except those hundreds of singing dolls, in truth.

And as I seem to be saying quite frequently at the moment, wouldn't it be boring if everyone was all the same?

I am sure when we have kids we'll like completely different things, and appreciate the childrens rides for the sheer joy of the kids themselves, not the rides. Until them I am a grown up in her 30's who loves disney and loves big thrill rides....

Yay someone agrees with me about IASW:yay: ;)

I do hate this one too. I love almost every song at DLRP but this one is awful (only "Happy, happy, happy, happy Halloween" is more awful!)

If we only heared the "uh uh" at the beginning we escaped further to the park or went to the Studios. We only saw the Character Express once. :headache:

That's it exactly, IASW is one of the few rides that you can easily take your youngest children on. Before they're old enough to walk they'll love this ride, and you'll spend most of the ride just watching them enjoy themselves :cloud9:

I have to admit I'm quite fond of the ride anyway. It's obviously a Disney classic, one of the originals, and very kitsch! I always find it quite a surreal experience where you can just loose yourself for the duration of the ride pixiedust:

It was riding IASW that I felt I had to propose to my now wife. No kids involved. But then I grew up with the original since I was a baby.

And yes, I would get rid of character express. Frankly I would get rid of most of the characters outside Fantasyland or the Studios (where they belong).

That is so sweet! *tear*

Just was reminded of this on another thread.

The top 10 things to do at DLRP on the TV.

None of the others nation's offerings are any better either.
