What a difference 4 years make(a long reflection)

Thank you, Tina and Matt for enduring 4 years of sacrifice for a purpose outside of yourselves, to keep our country safe and free. We honor you and appreciate each one of those years...thank you so much! :)

Tina

I know from personal experience what a loving, caring person you are. I thank you for the insight you have given us today as what it's like to be a military wife. I don't think many of us could do it.

Your strength is amazing.

Claire.

BTW I really like the new picture.

Tina-

You know how I feel about you.

Being a Military Wife is hard. I've cried a few times this week and dh isn't away from us yet.;)

You know you can always talk to me.

:grouphug: and Thank you.

What I love most about reading your posts in the love that pours through for your DH. I love that everytime you talk about Matt you refer to him as My Matt ....

Ya know what, Tina?

You are awesome! :thumbsup2 I SO admire you and your strength. Our country needs more people like you and your husband. We had a dad from our school/church speak at the honors' assembly yesterday. He returned in November after 14 months there. He told a bit about his daily life there and about how scared he was when he said goodbye to his wife and 3 sons, how scared he was crossing the border into Iraq knowing that this was REALLY happening... Then he spoke about the kids they helped and the good they did and about how much he believes in this mission. I bawled my eyes out through his speech.
He also mentioned that anyone wearing those fatigues your dh has on the picture has either been or is on the way to Iraq. That was pretty sobering. I've made up my mind that anytime I see a soldier, I'm going to thank him (and his family) in person.

Okay, now I'm crying again.

God bless you and your husband.

Wow Tina your amazing! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. A special thank you to Matt. May God continue to watch over both of you!

You are a very strong woman and this was a wonderful post. Thanks for sharing your story.

Later that night I had to go see about another wife, all of 17 years old, and missed my first call from Matt. In the background I could hear BOOM and I knew that he wasn't in Kuwait anymore lol but now I can laugh but then I lost it and sat and cried and cried and cried. My poor mom could not console me over the phone and I couldn't be consoled period and sat up all night waiting and praying my phone would ring.

I remember the first phone call I missed. :sad1: I was all hormonal and pregnant and I think I actually threw up (but blamed it on morning sickness, which I didn't have.) The first deployment, I cried all the time if I missed his call. It's amazing the difference in 2.5 years - now if I miss a call, I tell him later that he shouldn't have been calling during naptime. :rolleyes1

I've cried a few times this week and dh isn't away from us yet.;)

It's not very nice to cry because he hasn't gone away yet. ;) :lmao:

Tina -

You are an inspiration to us all. The base is lucky to have you.

Tina -

This is OT to your OP(DIS-acronyms :goodvibes ), but I do have to say I've always liked your siggy pics, but I reaaaaaaaly like the new one. You two look *so* happy.

agnes!

Not being from a military family I don't know how you feel but I can only imagine how I think I would feel in your shoes. My deepest gratitude for the sacrifices you and your husband make daily for my family and our country. On a day to day basis we don't always remember how fortunate we are to live in this country and how blessed we are. Your post brings that to light , you are a brave woman.

Tina,

You are an inspiration. :)

Thanks to you and Matt for your tireless service to our country.

Kel

Tina, I belonged to a website militarymoms.net during that time period. I learned through those wives, moms, sisters and gma's what it was like to have their loved ones in the sandbox. Like you, they were going through so many emotions and went through daily life in one big fog. I admire you for your strength and the passion you exhibit in helping others like you. Being an Air Force mom, I have gone through many, many dang good-byes and seperation, but nothing like yours. Remember, Tina, we are here for you whenever you need a shoulder to lean on.

ps...I am on my last skein of yarn so it won't be long.

Hugs, my friend.

Tina - You and Matt are in our prayers.

Thanks goodness for people like you and Matt who are willing to sacrifice so much. :goodvibes

That's a great story, very inspirational. It must have been so hard for you to pick yourself up in the midst of your fear and uncertainty. Not only did you overcome all that, you've helped many other women overcome those feelings...amazing! Thanks for sharing. :grouphug:

Tina, What a wonderful strong woman you are! I pray for you, your husband and all the other men and women serving our country. Please send a thank you to your hubby for me. :)

Your story is an inspiration. Thank you for sharing!

Once again Tina-kiddo, you have moved on up the ladder. You are truly caring and your husband is lucky to have you. And all the other military wives/husbands are even luckier for your support and guidance.

As the proud product of a career military family, thank you.
