The good news is that I went for an interview this morning, the bad news is that I parked my car on the side road as their car park was full. I came out and someone from the factory next door had driven their forklift truck into the back of the mini! It is a right mess smashed light, cracked bumper, big scratches. The guy who owned the factory told me to get a quote and he would see if he considered it reasonable, although he said he is not liable and doesn't have to pay.

I took it to the local garage and they said there is so much damage that it will have to go through on insurance, it is now in the hands of my insurers, and is hopefull going in on Wednesday.

Poor Little Car :sad2:

That's awful, Jules! Hope your poor Mini is fixed and back to it's normal self soon... :sad2:

PS: How did the interview go? :goodvibes

What a rotten day Jules:hug:

Hopefully your little car will soon be fixed and you will get the job:thumbsup2

thanks guys, the interview went well, this just put a dampener on it, the other boss of the other place wasn't stroppy, but he was spouting about without prejudice and stuff, I was a bit shaken up so I didn't have a clue what he was on about

Aww Jules, that's a horrible thing to have happened  Hope you manage to get it sorted out. Glad the interview went well :)

 big hugs Jules, I hope you get it sorted out soon and with minimum hassle.
Hope the job interview went well too:wizard:

Poor you and your poor little car!

My car has a dent in the back which I got reversing into a post in a tiny underground car park at an interview. I got the job and the good news was that they wouldn't let me park in that car park (I wasn't important enough) until I was 7 months pregnant! I got an easy space then.

Hope you get the job and a good car park space!

Oh Jules, what a bummer! The without prejudice thing is just insurance speak - don't worry, he was just trying to psyche you out. I really hope you get the job hun - I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you :goodvibes

And I hope the insurance sorts out the car with no problems.

Sorry to hear about your car. I hope you get the job though:thumbsup2

What I don't get is that the guy who owns the factory say he isn't liable, if it is one of his vehicles that hit your car surely it is his responsibility to pay for the damages and it should be coming off their insurance. Hopefully your insurers will sort it out.

he reckons I shouldn't have been parked there Nikki, it was a public road, no yellow lines or anything

Poor car! Glad the interview went ok. If your insurers deal direct with the manager man I am sure they won't put up with any nonsense from him. Maybe you should get some photos of the road to show there was no problem parking there?

Oh no. Sorry to hear you have had such a rotten day. Big hugs to you

Correct me if I am wrong, but how exactly can he not be reliable. :confused3 So what it is a public road, still remains the same. They hit your car and they are reliable. So if I hit a car on a public road that means I wont be reliable to pay or should I say my insurance company to pay :confused3 Where is his logic in this theory???? :confused3

Oh dear. Well I hope you get the job and your car fixed quickly :wizard:

Good Luck with the job :) and hope your mini is fixed really soon Jules.

 Aww Jules, I'm so sorry to hear about your mini, I hope your interview went well :wizard:

Mandy :)

thanks everyone, you have all cheered me up, the car is going in on Wednesday. The interview was good with a soft drinks company, but I really, really ave my heart set on a job I went for two weeks ago, its for a planner at a bakery who supply M&S, my job title would be Planner of Tarts and Mousses, it cracks me and Ian up. I would get to be a tart planner !

Hi Jules sorry to hear what had happen to your mini. Let hope that you get the job. :thumbsup2
The without prejudice when apply to a letter means that what ever has been written cannot be used in evidence in a court of law.
I'm guessing that it works the same way when its said verbally also. Which has me thinking that the owner of the factory has let someone use the forklift without the correct forklift licence, or the forklift is not insured when & if it leaves the factory ground. :sad2:
I think you deserve a group hug to cheer you up :flower3: :grouphug: :flower3:
