What a bargain!

I was just going over my prices for Universal and I just had to take a minute to say what a great deal I feel like I'm getting. I booked at HRH 3/30-4/2 at the APH rate of $340 a night. That deal includes 2 adult tix, 2 childrens tix, and free dining for the kids. We are planning to buy the meal deal at $20x4, so $80 per day for the 4 adults. When I added that up I was pretty surprised at the bargain.

hotel $1020 for 3 days
meal deal $240 for 3 days 4 adults
cabana rental $150 we are doing this because we are driving down, straight through from MI. We will get there at about 8am and thought it would be fun to hang at the pool until we can get our room. Sounds like more fun then stopping at a cheap hotel on the way down
Total $1410

Divided by 6 people =$235 each
Divided by 3 days = $78 per day per person!

I think my math is right...some of our group already have tickets, I bought the Power Passes and 1 PAP last year and this is the second trip using those. Not sure if I should figure the cost of those into this years total. We think we got our monies worth last year with them.

I have been very grateful for the tips here. I booked online and was able to get the HRH without having to pay the deposit straight off. I found out about the meal deal here, and I was reminded to ask for an upgrade when we check in because of the Loews first program. What do you think my odds are of getting upgraded to a Deluxe Queen if we are only blue card members? I booked the garden view queen because that was all that was offered.

i would suggest to call loews and ask them about the upgrade before you check in. if you can get it, have loews put it on your ressie. when you check in, that insert will show up on your file. might give you the edge of getting an upgrade before others if it is listed already. i have received upgrades at hrh twice while on the blue card.

i read a blurb that stated on some of the specials, upgrades will only be honored at time of booking.
call loews now for requesting the upgrade.

hrh is the smallest in number of rooms of the 3 hotels. they sell out and fill up quickly during peak times.
if people are waiting in line like you are and have the blue card, be one jump ahead and have your request in prior to check in time.

Thanks Macraven Do you think Loews will notice that I haven't really paid my deposit yet? I wouldn't mind that money just sitting around a little longer.

no i don't.

many times my card # was put through and it didn't register.
had to pay entire stay when we checked out.

it is common for that to happen.
