What’s your favorite fruit and vegetable?

Black raspberries and corn on the cob
This was my original answer and then I saw someone say watermelon and I would have a hard time choosing between the two. I actually love berries (particularly black raspberries, blueberries, red raspberries and blackberries) and melons (particularly watermelon, honeydew and cantaloupe). I like most fruit though.

I live in PA and a good, fresh Mcintosh apple from a local farm is my absolute favorite fruit but of course they are only available for a short time in fall, especially the Mcintosh because they are a soft apple and don't store well. I just bought some from the grocery store because i thought they looked ok but they are gross and mealy. In winter I look forward to grapefruit; spring and summer my favorites are blueberries, strawberries, and watermelon. I imagine fruits and veggies probably taste better if you live in the southern US because they spend less time on a truck and I'd honestly rather eat mushy canned fruit or frozen rather than eat any of my favorite fruits out of season.
::yes:: So true...we live in a world now where peaches from South America and cherries from Asia are available all year round. Boy though, are they ever a disappointing waste of money compared to lovely, luscious in-season produce grown closer to home. And here in our climate, nothing beyond hydroponic/hot-house lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes are really in-season during the winter so other than those and root vegetables, almost all the vegetables I cook are frozen.

Lemons and cucumbers. Cucumbers are the only veggie I routinely have seconds on.
One of my favorite meals is Greek pasta salad (don't know how Greek it actually is but that's what it's called if you want to look up the recipe). You make a viniagrette out of lemon juice and olive oil and spices, and drizzle that over cooked pasta, chickpeas (I sub black beans because that's what my family likes), sliced cucumber and spinach, with feta cheese crumbled over it all. It's a bowl of lemony, cucumber-y goodness!

We didn't eat much fruit when I was growing up, so I don't have any that I really like. I don't dislike fruit, but it's not anything I think of when I want a snack or a treat. I like berries better than apples, citrus, or bananas, and melons are OK too. I'll eat fruit when and if it's served, but I don't like one thing more than another. They are all fine, I guess.

Veggies? I have yet to taste a veggie I haven't liked! Some I like less than the rest (looking at you,🥦) but I really like veggies. Parsnips, mushrooms, winter squash, leeks, beets, and rutabaga (which we always called turnip) are some of my favorites.

I'm currently eating a fruit bowl from the vending machine at work. I like to eat everything from least favorite to most favorite: cantaloupe, watermelon, blueberries, strawberries, pineapple.

I've never heard of a vending machine having a fruit bowl option.🤔

We have a couple refrigerated vending machines with sandwiches, pasta, fruit bowls, and the like. A fruit bowl feels a lot healthier than cookies or chips.
I wish my vending machines at work had that. My place of work only has the unhealthy stuff. I think I'll ask management about considering putting in healthier option vending machines. Thanks for the idea. :-)
