What’s for Dinner Tonight?

Tonight we went out for dinner to a BBQ place (Dinosaur BBQ) to celebrate a couple Bdays (BIL and Nephew). I had a combo plate -BBQ shrimp (Peel and eat, so good but SOOO Messy, LOL) and a 1/4 chicken (Thigh and leg) with 2 sides - Mac and cheese and applesauce (it was good chunky cinnamon applesauce), the mac and cheese was a little spicy. I wanted mashed potatoes but they were out of that.

We had some shared apps of Fried Green Tomatoes and Creole deviled eggs. These were both good, the eggs were not spicy like I thought they would be, I was happy about that. And I actually like Fried Green Tomatoes (at least at this place, I have had them a couple of times). Me...the one that actually HATES tomatoes, LOL.

For dessert almost everyone got a peanut butter cup pie. Except me, I got a Salted caramel cookie bar. OMG this was amazing. It was basically a warm chocolate chip cookie with a brownie base and then warm caramel sauce on it. served with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. A good sized portion, too. I ate about 1/2 of it and brought the rest home.

Last night here.....so everything.
We have General Tso's chicken, turkey pot pie, Southwest bagged salad, a lot if pepper jack cheese. Those all need to eaten it thrown out.
We can take home the apples, Cheetos, crackers.
We'll have a lot if water left too

oof just inhaled a pizza with alarming speed.... weds I teach a night class and I missed lunch, so that 8pm pizza I grabbed on the way home was so good

chicken, spinach, feta and tomato
I get it. On Thursdays in the fall, DH teaches til 7 and I teach until 9. If there isn't something ready at home, we scarf down whatever is available from whatever is still open when we are on the way home. Oftentimes a cocktail and pad see eww or curry at our favorite Thai place.

I've been scrabbling for meals all week. I made a huge pot of sausage/white bean/greens soup for our super bowl get-together at DD's on Sunday. HOwever, she is sick (and I was feeling lazy) so I left the leftovers for them for the week, so they'd have easy meal prep. I grabbed a chicken at Sam's on... Saturday? Monday? so we've been eating away at that. Yesterday I ran thru Walmart so picked up one of their pizzas; it's pre-made but not frozen, and had that last night with salad. It was pretty good. Tonight the LittleGuy is coming for a sleepover. I might pick what's left from the chicken carcass and make quesadillas. I hate weeks like this, when we don't have real "meals" and are just casting about, trying to find something to eat. Labs are running until about 5:30 this week and after that I need to clean/reset the lab and chemicals and deal with the waste, meaning we are at work until at least 7pm. I knew this was coming, which is why I made such a big pot of soup, and I've kicked myself each evening for being too lazy to pack some of it up to bring home with us on Sunday.

Rochester? Dinosaur BarBQ is one of the few things I miss about my son no longer being in school anymore (he graduated from RIT).
