What’s for Dinner Tonight?

Don’t want to jinx self but I think the cold/ flu is pretty much over. Pulled some red lentil, chickpea and veggie soup out of the freezer added more lemon juice to it after heating it up.
Amazing, I could actually taste it.

I’m behind in my baking schedule but D., my regular weekday home attendant, decided to come to work this weekend to help me get up to steam. Missed my self imposed mailing time but everything happens for a reason. “Aunt BabySis” is in rehab and wants the cookies delivered to her home. Her birthday is December 31st so I just changed cookie delivery date from one birthday to another!

Not sure. I have been having "grumblies in my tumbly" for almost two days, making food (thinking about it, cooking it, etc) challenging. Yes, burgers and then pizza were on last night's menu, but I had... two smiley fries and some crackers, I think. I am still not feeling well today, so we may end up with breakfast for supper. DH loves cheese omelets, and I think I'll be able to handle scrambled eggs by then. Or maybe homemade chicken broth/noodle soup. [Just writing this is making my insides gurgle... TMI, I know...]

Cookie trays for tomorrow's family Christmas celebration.....before DS and his family leave to spend Christmas with DIL's family in another state.

The blank spot is where the Chocolate Chip Cheesecake bars will go (in the fridge until tomorrow.)
The snowman tray is gluten free

with 6 days till christmas eve i'm in my 'make room in the freezer for holiday leftovers' mode so I pulled out a container of chili and another of pot roast. I'll make some pasta and heat up some fries-people can have their choice of chili dogs or pot roast and pasta (which will go great with the awesome roasted garlic sourdough loaf I grabbed at the store this week).

For various reasons we were not able to have our girls weekend this fall. We planned to have a girls day but the weather didn’t cooperate. We were supposed to take a ferry to Long Island to meet the rest of our group. Unfortunately heavy rain and 50mph winds meant the ferry wasn’t running. Those of us who are local regrouped to go a cheese store and a vineyard we like. While at the cheese shop the vineyard called to say they had no power. Luckily the lovely folks at the cheese shop made some recommendations.

We had fried avocados, then I had lobster bisque and shared chicken Cesar wrap with a friend and a mangotini

I hope it's just a stomach bug that goes away soon.
