Tonight I made loaded potato soup with focaccia bread. I love the way the house smells after you make bread.

My DH bought a big bag of Hershey kisses last weekend. I said I know what those are for!!

My DH bought the bag at Costco. I made 100 cookies and still have at least 100 Hershey kisses. I’m going up need a plan B.

We made homemade things today. For the first time in 20 years of marriage, we made pancakes from scratch this morning. Nothing from a box (except baking powder, lol). And tonight, we made homemade cookies from scratch. Again, no kind of box/premade stuff.

I tried to teach myself how to knit. I was unsuccessful. I was debating trying crochet but now I’m thinking maybe that just isn’t my thing

My grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was little. I don’t remember if I ever finished making anything. Maybe I wasn’t that good either. Haha

Actually tonight I’m going to my parents house for dinner. My sister’s in charge. Not sure if we’re ordering or she’s cooking.

I’m meeting my bff for brunch and to menu plan. We are having a holiday party next Saturday. We remodeled 50% of the house this year and most of our friends haven’t seen it. Should be fun! I’m mentioning it because I’m going to run my menu plan past you all later for suggestions.

I finally got the chain stitch going. One of my Disney gal pals, had the brilliant idea that we order these adorable little beginner kits from Amazon and all learn this together. She’s an art teacher and loves this stuff! But, I had to crack up when she was texting me last night with her crochet frustrations. LOL Not so easy, eh!!?!!

Tonight we are having Zuppa Toscana soup(an Olive Garden copycat recipe) with fresh bread. I am making a loaf of my french bread and then also experimenting with it for the first time and adding inclusions to create a Garlic Cheese loaf for something different. I'm also making buffalo chicken meatballs for a few days worth of quick lunches for our son who is going into finals week for the semester. And as our Christmas cookie season has started so I am doing Spritz today...and making rice krispy treats for a sweet treat to start the week off.

LoveDaisy - my mom has always been phenomenal with crochet and I can't tell you how many times she tried to teach me to no avail....she no longer crochets due to severe arthritis, but I started hand knitting last year with the big chunky yarn and had success! I just watched a few YouTube videos and practiced a few rows. I ended up making a blanket with no problems!

Have you tried to cross stitch? Many years ago I was bedridden for 2 1/2 months, prior to back surgery (long story). Needless to say, I was bored stiff, so I sent DH to pick me up a starter cross stitch kit. I had never tried it, but my MIL had made many things. So, I thought I'd give it a try. I ended up making several pieces, some of which I eventually had framed. It was really quite easy to learn. At the time, I was a young mother, so I left it behind, when I was able to get back to life. Now that I think about it, I've probably got a 1/2 finished piece here somewhere.

I gave my sons options for preparing chicken thighs and they both agreed they want the crumb coated chicken thighs I make almost every time they're home. They also wanted mashed potatoes but I only had enough potatoes for them so I also made rice pilaf and roasted some broccoli, too.

Change of plan today. I didn’t end up going to my parents. My sister was going to take them out for lunch instead with my nephew. I had shopping and things to do.
I ended up making chili. I’ll have some tonight.
