Tonight we had the fresh pasta I got at the farmers market yesterday with meat sauce for DH and sauce for me with salad and garlic bread.
I’m not sure what I was thinking but I went to Costco this morning. It was like a free for all for the pumpkin pies, they had a pallet of them. They had a sell by date of tomorrow so maybe people are pre-gaming?
Glad I found this post. I need some ideas. Trying to cut our monthly food budget down yet eat healthy (no fried, no processed, no sweets, high protein). Also no corn as I'm allergic. I'm aiming for $100/week. We go to Walmart pretty much on Monday after work with a meal plan in hand and buy all of our food for the week (we only buy for the week, we can't afford to bulk buy in advance), toiletries, paper good, laundry detergent. So I'm trying to limit it to $100/week.
Tonight's supper was peanut butter and honey sandwich, fruit and chips for me and 2 ham and cheese sandwiches for DW. Lunch was tuna fish (2 cans) and chips for me and leftovers for DW.
We had chicken penne pesto pasta. It consists of chicken, penne, spinach, sundried tomatoes, and artichoke hearts. The sauce is a mix of pesto and sour cream.
I need to go the grocery store after work to get stuff to cook on Thanksgiving Day. It's just DW and I, but we don't want to starve. But while I'm there, I may look and see what looks good for dinner tonight and leftover for lunch tomorrow (maybe grilled burgers since it's a little cooler today). Or I might just make chicken fajitas with the canned chicken meat we have at home already. Not sure yet.
Yum. Well, not the cornbread because I'm allergic to corn. But chili sounds good. Just too hit here. It's in the 60s today. Got to wait until it's in the 30s and 40s for that.
