Burgers and French Onion Soup tonight

Beautiful lunch yesterday that became dinner for me. Started with a celery remoulade as an appetizer followed by trout steak with a wine and butter sauce and carrot purée; never had trout cut as a steak before. Nice cut!
The meal ended with a plate of local cheese although I could have had a sweet ending if I wanted.

Spent the night in Rouen so I’d more time at the museum and stopped at a fishmonger before hopping the train this afternoon. Bought some smoked fish filets and I’ll have a cold meal of toast with salad and the smoked fish atop. Grabbed a pear tart from the patisserie and that’s the end of tonight’s meal. Opened a bottle of cider to drink with the meal; I’ll miss not having this beverage when I get home. Yes, I’m having some cases sent home but what happens when I run out?! Guess I’ll have to return, hehehe.

Loaded baked potato for DH. Baked potato w/ butter for me. Plus, broccoli cheddar soup for both of us.

Today was the last farmers market of the season in the town I work in. I picked up supplies for one last tomato sandwich dinner. Sesame semolina bread, pesto, and fresh mozzarella. I still have a few garden tomatoes.

I also picked up some corn and I have heavy cream coming with my dairy order tomorrow so maybe I’ll make corn chowder this weekend.

Last night I had dinner at my mother in law's house and had shepherd's pie that she made with ground turkey instead of beef (that's a big plus for me since I'm not a fan of ground beef. We had corn on the cob too. She actually got it for free at the farm stand when she went to get some other things. They had a big box of it and were giving 6 ears to every customer for free. It was the last of the crop and I guess they wanted to get rid of it. We were nervous that it might not be good as last of the crop but it was really good.

Tonight I am trying my first attempt at Homemade lasagna.

I'm not motivated to cook a big dinner tonight, but soon enough I will have two hungry men circling around the kitchen looking for food. Sooooo...I think I'm going to do one-pot spaghetti and a salad. There ya go boyzzzzz....

Tonight I am trying my first attempt at Homemade lasagna.

It turned out pretty good!

No grand kids today......so I can get some rest and try to shake this cold.

Dinner is leftovers. We have some chicken left and some Big Sandwich left (I had made for DGD for lunches).
I will make a salad too......we haven't had one all week.

Not sure. DH leaves for a Florida golf trip this afternoon. I wish I had a job that I could work from home!!
I’ll probably order Chinese I guess.

I heard today was national pasta day, and coincidentally we're having pasta with a ground beef and ground hot sausage sauce. I also have to take a ride a few towns over, and will pass a great little Italian shop, so I'll try to stop in and see what they have for garlic bread and I'll pick up some rainbow cookies for dessert!

No idea tonight. May just do scrambled eggs or something. I have some roasted veggies I need to use up too so can heat them up with the eggs. We will see. Just going to try and not order in.

We have a 7 hour drive tonight once we pick up our sons so we're having Jersey Mike's in the car as we ride along.

Don’t know what I’ve got planned for dinner tonight. Ran out of menu planning. I’m going to hit Trader Joe’s and the local farmers market and see what inspires me. I’ve got Friday’s free now! TGIF!
