I've been away and busy for several days, but back for a quick update....
tonight will be some homemade Vietnamese food. I'll cook up some vermicelli noodles, and add some fresh pan seared shrimp, freshly fried crispy rolls, some thinly sliced sirloin steak bean sprouts and some nuoc cham sauce. Combine it all in a bowl and eat until it hurts
I made a chicken shawarma a couple weeks ago but unfortunately it sat in the oven too long while we waited for the end of the NASCAR race so it was extra crispy, lol. The flavors were great though. We're going to give a try again with the correct cooking time tonight.

I love that they are usually easy to make, healthier, and very tasty. I bought my DS-27 the Skinnytaste Simple cookbook last year and he's become a big fan. Before that cookbook his cooking repertoire consisted of pasta, tacos, and mac n cheese. He's definitely expanded his horizons with the Skinnytaste recipes. He loves them as much as we do.

That's what I love about their recipes too. My days of spending an hour+ preparing a meal are over (holidays excluded). It's great that your DS is willing to experiment & make so many different recipes.

He makes so many great recipes! We often get texted pictures of his creations. He's definitely come a long way since he moved into his "bachelor pad". Our two sons are always opposite. Our oldest DS-29 is a really good cook but wouldn't follow a recipe ever. He just makes it up as he goes along. He's my creative thinker and my youngest is my procedure follower, so he gets the cookbooks!

Sounds like you raised them well. My DS used to cook every night, but I think he's over it for now. Between work & his social life, he mostly subsists on frozen pizza. That's why he loves Dad & Mom coming to visit. Oh, he also likes having a house cleaner, launderer & baby sitter for his little dog. Yeah, we're onto him.
Making Pork Chops in the air fryer, Broccoli Cheddar rice (Knorr Side dish thing) and Green Beans. Crescent rolls. Hoping they turn out. Waiting a little bit more to make them so it is more fresh when DH gets home from work.
Roast chicken bowtie pasta. It’s been my youngest son’s favorite since he was a little boy.
I brine the chicken..then roast it, shred and toss it with bowtie pasta, fresh basil, quartered little gem tomatoes, garlic salt, fresh pepper & evoo. Top it with fresh parm.
I went to a friends tonight for girls night. We had a bunch of apps; jalapeños poppers, Cesar cups, asparagus and goat cheese flatbread, charcuterie board, artichoke dip, fruit, shrimp cocktail, and a variety of single serve desserts from Whole Foods
