What’s for Dinner Tonight?

Last night DH and I went to see Brad Paisley and ate from one of the booths at the venue before the show. I had chicken strips and he had a cheeseburger, then we shared onion rings. We hit McD's drive through on the way home at almost midnight I had SNACK WRAPS!! (Yay they are back, LOL)

Tonight we grilled burgers and dogs on the grill. First time using it at our new house (We brought it over on 4th July) We had Mashed potatoes and earlier today my MIL brought some Ancini de Pepe Fruit salad so we ate that. She knows I love it so she brought the leftovers from a picnic she went to (it's what she made for it)

We went to Narcoossees to celebrate our anniversary.. yes it was back in May but DH said it’s still our 30th year! 🤣
We shared calamari
DH had surf & turf with an old fashioned. I had 2 apps - lobster bisque and brisket and ricotta tortelloni with a white sangria. Everything was delicious!!

tonight was a combo of the last of the ribs cooked a few nights ago along with the last of ther burgers done yesterday (it's BBQ time). Monday/tuesday (at minimum) will be 'made to order enchiladas'-last time I did up a big batch of the meat I froze containers of it and extra sauce so it's easy to pull from the freezer and start making individual batches. one day this week i'm looking forward to morrocan seasoned lamb kabobs-i hit Costco last week and bout a few boneless lamb legs to be broken down in meal size portions for kabobs, Sheppard's pie, lamb stew...so i'm set.

We are picking cucumbers like crazy so I’ll be making some pickles this weekend. I’m excited!

One of my fav things to do! I’m on full on pickling mode this week. My peppers are out of control and my neighbors are done with me coming over with bags of them. Hahaha!

Monday was the LittleGuy's 9th birthday, so he, his parents, and his grandparents came over for pizza, salad, and an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. I didn't pay enough attention when slicing the cake and cut down into my thumb with the butt of the knife, putting a pretty decent slash at the base of the thumbnail. No matter, the cake was good and the Birthday Boy and his parents stayed overnight, so it was almost like when they lived here. Thumb was wrapped in paper towels and tape overnight but it didn't ever really stop bleeding (washed my hair this morning... not quite the shower scene from Psycho, but not pretty), so I hit it with crazy glue, a bandage, and splinted it up. I am OFF kitchen duty for a little bit, although we are headed to a Portland ME hotel tonight as we leave from PWM in the morning for a week in NOLA, visiting my sister and BIL. SO... no idea what supper will be tonight, but for the following 5 nights, you can bet it's gonna be Cajun or Creole, and it's gonna be GOOD!

Finally made it to the farmers’ market this morning. Wasn’t enamored with the tomatoes but the corn looked good so got some. Made some corn chowder with ham and bacon in it as well as used up some leftover Serrano pepper for tonight’s meal as well as a mini peach cobbler for dessert.

Yesterday was leftover Hot dogs and Ancini de Pepe fruit salad from Sunday.

Today DH and I are going to dinner for my Birthday. We don't want to venture too far because DH has to work early in the AM so Olive Garden it is! I like it there, plus I am having a craving for their Chicken and Gnocchi soup. I'll probably order an extra bowl to take home.

Tomorrow we are going to my MIL's house for dinner to celebrate my Birthday with her and my SIL and BIL and maybe our nephews. Then there is a free concert in the park that we will likely go to. They are usually a nice night out.
