Made a chicken Niçoise salad in an effort to use up space in the fridge and pantry. Made a parsley, mint and basil pesto dressing to up the flavor; tasted right for this type of weather.
It's my grandson's 18th birthday. We're doing steak and chicken on our brand new Blackstone, plus potato salad and macaroni salad. Red velvet cake for dessert.
Taiwanese fried chicken cutlets, steamed broccoli, steamed cucumbers, boiled egg, seaweed salad, fried rice, and miso soup from Chi Chop (a phenomenal local restaurant in my part of Virginia).
Wow That looks so enticing. It's been a brutal week at work and since I'm beat and it's also really hot here, we had ice cream for supper too. As the main course. DH had 1/2 a bag of chips for dessert.

Last night we ate at Cake Bake shop. I had the gumbo which is very spicy, but good and DH had the croque monsieur- not great. We shared both. DH wasn’t thrilled about eating there. Haha
We are having all the summer things tonight I’m grilling tonight. Rib eye for DH, chicken for me. I’m serving it with corn, and cucumber and tomato salad. Blueberry ice cream for dessert (it turned out great!)
Finished off the hot and sour soup as a starter.
Then an entree of steamed haddock with ginger and scallions with bok choy and pea pods with rice noodles.
DGD pronounced it “Frenchie-Chinese” and said this was what she remembered most about my cooking. Not sure if that was a compliment or not, .
We had vanilla gelato and strawberry and tart cherries for dessert.
We ate at The Hollywood Brown Derby lounge. I had the lamb shank with quinoa-pea salad and mint yogurt with a margarita. This was delicious. DH had the filet with potato-carrot mash and broccoli rabe and an old fashioned. He also loved his meal.
