What’s for Dinner Tonight?

Day 1 of vacation and we have already eaten way too much!

For lunch I had tuna tartar, ceviche, lobster, and coconut cream puff

For dinner I had a crab cake, lobster bisque, grilled branzino with spinach, and key lime pie.

I was so full I couldn’t have a post dinner drink 😂
That all sounds SO delicious!

Got home from work yesterday with plans of ordering our usual Friday night pizza, but dh asked if I wanted to go out! Uhhhh…yeah. 😂 We went to Don Quijote, a Mexican restaurant. He had their Arroz con Pollo and I had something new to me so I don’t remember the name. It was a marinated flank steak with a cheese enchilada, refried bean, guacamole, yellow rice, tomatoes, onions and lettuce. I had a blood orange margarita with that. It was all so good.

Not dinner, but dessert. I'm bringing this to a dinner party at friends' house tonight. Cook's Country's S'mores Pie. Graham cracker crust, brownie filling, milk chocolate ganache top layer, then a cooked Swiss meringue to mimic the marshmallow, before finishing with a kitchen torch. Can't wait to cut into this one!

Swiss meringue "marshmallow."

Back from WDW and the fridge is empty so raided the freezer and found some goodies to defrost for a few days worth of meals.
Tonight it was hot and sour soup and all I had to do was add the tofu (don’t like the taste of frozen tofu).
I’ll fill in what I ate on vacation later when I’ve more time.
I'm looking forward to all the details.

Have a great vacation! It looks like you've gotten off to a great start. Sounds delicious.

We are on Royal Caribbean Symphony of the Seas. Since it’s his birthday we did the dining package and are checking out all the specialty restaurants.
Good to know. We've never tried RCCL, because we've heard the food wasn't very good. Since we would definitely book the dining package, it appears we'd be happy sailing with them. Maybe, the ship makes a difference. :confused3

I think the included food is fine, same as other cruise lines I’ve been on. We did the unlimited dining package. It was $220 a person for the week.

With the dining package we can have dinner every night at a specialty restaurant, lunch at sea at specialty restaurants. In addition to $20 a person a day credit that can be used in the bars that offer food. A few places still have an additional charge. We are going to hibachi and that is an extra $10 a person and chef tasting (10 courses I think) is extra. We aren’t doing that one it’s just too much food.

This ship has a steakhouse, Italian, seafood, Mediterranean, sushi, hibachi, wonderland (it’s one of those food science places), and the chefs table

Below are 2 pictures I took from the windjammer buffet yesterday at lunch. This was not an up charge restaurant, so if your curious about what is included. Top picture muscles, clams, and tuna tartar. Bottom picture is ceviche.

That looks & sounds right up our alley. We'll have to check into it. Perfect embarkation port for us.
